Long sleeves shirts, Sweaters/sweatshirts, Medium weight jackets, Closed-toe, comfortable shoes, Umbrella, Gloves and neck scarf, Light boots or day hikers, Sunglasses, Fuzzy socks or flip flops. Other items such as tissues, toothbrushes, toothpaste, body lotion can be purchased locally.

Advice for People Visiting France

Every year, we receive many visitors from all around the world making France the most visited country in the world. as a country, we have a lot to offer our visitors including many of the world's most iconic landmarks and tourist spots. Before planning your trip to the country, one should know that France has a very rich and unique culture. To fully enjoy the country there are some few do's and don'ts that every visitor should be familiar with.

Do learn some basic French words and phrases. Though most people in France speak English, mastering few French words and phrases might come in handy in some situations.

Do take time to dress up. Remember, you are visiting the fashion capital of the world which is Paris. Therefore, your sense of fashion need to be turned up a notch higher. More importantly, never wear aforementioned clothes when dining in restaurants.

Do visit the iconic Eiffel Tower. You never really visited France until you see the Eiffel Tower.

Do not talk about religion, politics, and other sensitive topics. While French people do love a good debate, as a tourist it is better to stay away from such topics especially when not well served with subject matter.

Bo not speak in English right away when talking to French people. If you speak English right away, do not be surprised if you do not get a response. Remember those French words and phrases I talked about, try using them to break the ice. The people will appreciate the effort.

The Program

On Tuesday, November 6th, the couple will arrive at the Paris International Airport where they will be picked by a cab and taken to Hotel Keppler where they will spend the night. This hotel was chosen because of its strategic location which not only quiet and safe but also close to good restaurants and some of the sites the couple is interested in visiting. There is also a minimarket around.

Day 1

The visitors will take their breakfast at Bagelstein Hotel which is just across the street from Hotel Keppler. While the hotel offers a variety of choices for foods, I recommend bagels for the couple because it is their first visit to Paris. They will also have the choice of bread and stuffing together with the bagels.

After breakfast, the couple will visit the closest site from Bagelstein hotel which is Champs Elysees. The mode of transportation will be walking with a guide because of the proximity of the site. Furthermore, walking around the city will expose the visitors to the French people. From Champ Elysees, we walk to Arc de Triomphe which is around 1 kilometer via Av. des Champs.

After visiting Arc de Triomphe, the visitors will take lunch. I will not choose the restaurant where the couple will have lunch as most visitors like to choose themselves as they walk to the Eifel Tower. Therefore, lunch will be taken at a random hotel along the Avenue d'Iena.

In the afternoon, the couple will visit the Eifel Tower where they will spend most of the afternoon time. They will get to climb the tower and see the city from the binoculars in the tower. From the tower, the couple will visit the famous Louvre Museum which houses Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. Finally, the visitors will walk back to Hotel Keppler, taking dinner along the way. There will be no activities for the night as the visitors will be preparing to travel the next day.

Day 2

The first activity of the second day will be taking breakfast at the same hotel as the previous day. This choice of hotel for the second day is necessary to save time. After breakfast, the couple will board a train to the Palace of Versailles. The train will take approximately one hour from Paris to the Palace.

Much of the morning activity will be a visit to the Palace. A guided tour around the Palace can take up to five hours. The first two or three hours are for the chateau, one hour for the gardens, and another two hours for the Domaine de Marie-Antoinette. Therefore, all the morning hours will be spent in the Palace.

After the tour, the visitor will take lunch at the hotel inside the Palace of Versailles. The first floor of the Palace has a restaurant known as Ore. The restaurant offers a variety of lunch menu options guided by the requirements of tired visitors.

In the afternoon, the couple will visit the Fontaine du Point du Jour, a statue located less than a mile away from the Palace of Versailles. The visitors will walk to this destination to enjoy the view of the outskirts to the Palace. What another must-see in the area is The Water Parterres which is also around the vicinity of the Palace.
