Prelude

The main objective of a social work career I identified is to promote the well-being of humans and help achieve everyone's basic needs, especially the poor, vulnerable, and oppressed. I found out that social workers' task is to enhance social justice and change on behalf of families, communities, groups, and individuals. I realized that social workers are thoughtful when it comes to matters concerning culture, ending discrimination, poverty, and ethnicity (SpA, 2016). These acts may occur in the process of administration, advocacy, research, or even directly. Social workers promote the position of individuals airing their needs. I also understood that social workers endeavor to enhance the response frequency of communities and organizations to people’s social needs and problems. The social work career's mission is fixed in a series of core values. The core values accepted by social workers through their jobs are the pillar of the purpose and viewpoint of social work.

Purpose

NASW morals serve several purposes, including identifying core values upon which the mission of social work is based. The code of ethics grants a series of principles and values to control conduct and resolution are making when ethical problems come to light. I also realized that the code does give rules and standards that show social workers ought to behave in every situation (Zastrow, 2016). It was challenging to me that NASW morals do not identify the principles and values that are significantly more than others in scenarios when they clash. In my realization, making ethical decisions takes a process. It occurred to me that in situations when disputing commitments occur, social workers might encounter challenging dilemmas with complicated answers. According to my knowledge, Social workers ought to consider all standards and values in the code that are ideal for any scenario in which ethical discernment is justified. Social workers should be well informed of every clash between career and personal values and handle them responsibly.

Principles

The general principles of ethics, which are constructed on the core service value of social workers, a person’s worth, advantages of individual relationships, and integrity. These principles provide the ideals that should be aspired by every social worker. It occurred to me that social workers increase other people's services, high up their self-interest. Social workers are motivated to give some part of their career skills without expecting anything in return. Social change is pursued by social workers, specifically on behalf of abused people (Bhuyan et al., 2017). In my experience, social workers' efforts in social change are concentrated on matters of discrimination, poverty, and unemployment. These tasks try to enhance cautiousness and information concerning culture and ethnicity. Social workers handle everyone respectfully and are mindful of personal ethnicity, culture, and differences. Social employees regularly work hard to elevate their career knowledge and skills and practically apply them.

Standards

The primary responsibility of social workers, according to my knowledge, is to enhance the comfort and well-being of their clients. Generally, the interest of clients is vital. Nonetheless, the burden of social workers to a large population might, on restricted occasions, surpass the loyalty given to clients (Bhuyan et al., 2017). In my perspective, social workers promote and respect the client's rights to freedom and aid clients in their struggles to realize their goals. The client’s right to freedom may be limited in career judgment by social workers.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I learned that ethics and values significance in social work supersedes requirements and regulations. In a career where clients are most at risk and cannot advocate for themselves, it is required of those advocating on their behalf to have a passion for enabling the oppressed and vulnerable. Also, realized that social work is concerned with enhancing the society’s general welfare by advocating for the vulnerable. It dawned to me that giving social services can, at times, be challenging. The code of ethics for social work aids social workers to go through challenges throughout their profession.
