What would you do when you learn that we have someone among us in this hall living in the streets? Am I supposed to change my opinions and views regarding them? Behold, what happens if I did? How would everyone feel if you're among these people living in the streets? Significantly, today I focus on addressing the importance of fostering a social change pitch on the issue of homelessness.
For decades of years, the issue of homelessness tends to be a day to day reality. Homeless people spend them every day without having adequate support from their relatives and families, hence having pretty little trust and hope. It is apparent that life on the streets represents a type of life that is very painful than any of us here can imagine. Just, it is not for the fact that that young people are forced in huddling in doorways or looking for basic needs such shelter and security in back backstreets. Significantly, the actual suffering originates from the state of loneliness that these children experience on every day. As a result, this makes the memories of abuse to haunt them. This is because these children lack a place to call home and having no one to provide them with appropriate care.
The issue of homelessness is a significant problem that is raising a lot of attention in various communities for a myriad of years. Australia is one of the nations that cases of homeliness are on the rise having about 105,000 homeless people. According to the Australian census conducted in 2006, it is surprising to see that among the homelessness people, 58% are below the age of 35. Many people perceive homeless people as the authors regarding their misfortunes because of their behavior which are irresponsible and reckless. However, it is significant to understand and recognize the multidimensional nature of the causal factors of the issue (Burns, 2015). For this reason, I call to everyone in this venue to view the issue of homelessness as an aggregate problem which I believe will help in simplifying the issue quantitatively while at the same time developing a structure of resolving the issue at a personal level.
There are many root causes of homelessness in Australia and the rest of the world. The root causes comprise if unemployment, migration, personal problems, housing shortage, and poverty. Significantly, the state of homelessness has severe effects to both victims and the country, some of these effects include health problems, social problems, systematic failure, economic problems, street violence, criminal activities, and prostitution. Based on the various issues of homelessness, I believe that it is substantial to utilize systems thinking the approach to improve our understanding of the problem (Bryant and Bricknell 2017). Moreover, this approach will also help people in developing, enhancing and creating comprehension that details the relationship between the system elements and its values.
Conclusion
To sum up, it is evident that the issue of homelessness is a serious problem facing the community in Australia and the rest of the world. For this fact, it is significant for every one of us to involve in visualizing all the available mechanisms of advocating for changes addressing and diagnosing the issue of homelessness. Thank you very much for your patient and attention. If there could be a person with any questions, I will be comfortable to answer.
