Introduction
Sexual assault is illegal sexual advances towards an individual, which leads to discomfort or harm. Various types of sexual offenses can be directed to an individual. The effect that sexual assault has is harm to the individual and lower dignity. As a result of the impact of sexual assault, there is a need for resources that can enable the individual to deal with the situation in the best way possible. That is because of the physical or emotional damage that will have been caused by the person. One type of resource that an individual can use is from the Counseling and Health Resources from The William Peterson University. There is a variety of options that a victim of sexual assault might take advantage of for their benefit. That includes, but is not limited to, the literature on self-care, guidance, and counseling or contacts of professionals that can offer help (William Petterson University 1). The resource will enable the individual to deal with the assault in a way that will reduce the adverse effects, and heal their trauma.
The other example of a resource that an individual can use is The New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NJCASA) for help. That is whereby the individual can reach them through their phone number for assistance. Through their contact persons, they can offer support in multiple ways such as educational services, accompaniment for interviews, examination, and court proceedings. Moreover, there is the option of the New Jersey State Police. Various resources can be advanced to a victim, such as representation, advice on how to take care of the situation, and the charging of the perpetrator. Through the resources, an individual will be in a better position to deal with the assault. There is a 2h hour contact that an individual can access, whereby they can access the help they need so that they get the support they need to effectively address the situation. The resource that an individual chooses is based on the services provided and their preferences.
A child sexual abuse prevention program is created to lower the cases of sexual abuse among children. Furthermore, they offer services to victims of child sexual assault. That is because of the resources that are available on the platforms. First, I will have a feature for resources that can be accessed by the parents or guardians to the victims. That will have procedures that can be followed for an individual to obtain medical attention. That is because some people might be ignorant about the processes that can be followed to get any help after the assault. The other feature that the program will have is a series of contacts of professionals that can offer assistance. That will range from law enforcement personnel to healthcare experts. People will get in touch with them so that they can get any help they need. Furthermore, there will be a feature of the guidance and counseling of the victims. That will help them deal with a situation better. There will also be a parent and guardian resource center, where the best practices to take care of the victims will be outlined. Lastly, there will be a section for the training of volunteers that would like to offer help to victims, which will increase the program's effectiveness.
Alcohol has many effects on an individual, which are because of the chemical components that it is composed of. The first effect that alcohol has on an individual is about their ability to make sound decisions. The intake of alcohol has the effect of inhibiting the ability of an individual to make sound decisions because they are unable to think clearly. That is caused by the chemical components of alcohol, which momentarily alter the working of an individual's brain. That leads to the person making wrong decisions, as they are not in their standard thinking capacity. As a result of the inability to make sound decisions, an individual is more likely to engage in inappropriate sexual activity. The individual may end up being the victim or the perpetrator of a sexual assault. Taking large amounts of alcohol increases the urge to engage in sexual activity, but reduces an individual's performance (George 3). Therefore, an individual should check their drinking habits so that it can translate into better sexual health.
The Tuskegee Study was carried out between 1932 and 1972, which as meant to investigate the history of untreated syphilis among the American people, majorly African American men. The study took 40 years, where there was an analysis of the results that were obtained over that period. As a result of taking part in the study, the black American men received help such as free meals, burial insurance, and free medical examination (Rockwell et al., 795). However, the study later termed as a violation of the constitution, because the subjects were not offered penicillin, although it would treat their infection. The study aimed to establish if prevent syphilis, in addition to curing. The research is still relevant because, when undertaken in a better way, it can help find the cures to other sexually transmitted infections among people. Furthermore, better care can be guaranteed to subjects of medical trials in society.
The use of condoms has been established as one of the ways through which sexually transmitted infections can be prevented. However, most people are against the use of protection because it is not appealing enough. Therefore, there are various ways through which it can be made more attractive. First, it is through engaging in campaigns to get rid of the stigma associated with the use of condoms. That is because some of the information people base their preferences on is baseless. Furthermore, there can be research and design of the condoms, which can make them more pleasurable, consistent with the interests of most people. Moreover, changing an individual's perception of pleasure can be an asset. That is because it will change their opinion regarding the use of condoms and the perceived pleasure. In the long run, the efforts will lead to more appeal associated with condom usage.
