Even though there is a call for equitable opportunities in education, good schools are still failing the students of color. The reason why most students of color fail to be carried through the same opportunities is the fact that there is an innate hatred that is enmeshed in teachers, students and most of the stakeholders in the educational institutions (Carter 76). For that matter, segregation affects the students of color thus affecting their performance after lowering their confidence and self-esteem.

It has been found out that parents' request for the need of adopting the aspect of equality of education to be subjective matter might increase radical self-interest that might end up undermining the common good. The aspect of prioritizing the viewpoint of safe sex and HIV education lies between parents (individual) liberty and the concept of upholding the common good. Most people outline the opinion that the current same-sex marriages and intimacy which is a hot-button topic in most states will be the second topic to figure out as a way of giving children a roadmap towards making the right choice to sexuality.

The most surprising issue in the readings us the aspect that common good sets up the stage on the concept of same-sex education. The main reason for changing the curriculum is caused by the fact that American school governance has drastically changed since the emphasis on incorporating sexual and homosexual education was necessitated by policymakers. For instance, the pursuit of common good, individual liberty, and equal opportunity have been affected by the long-standing debate concerning the incorporation of sex education that is affected by the society's role confusion. Consequently, the integration of sex education in schools has attracted debates concerning parents' consent as many people portray to uphold different values (Carter 76).
