A young scientist, Ray, was a largely successful man as he would want at 22. He had characterized a few proteins on the surface of a virus. This had instilled confidence in him. He has attended a myriad of interviews, and his followers on social media platforms have multiplied two-fold by the day, and he was famous more than he had imagined. He kept his head low, but anytime he logged onto his Instagram, his tongue-in-cheek smiled. Fame was not that bad, was it?

They always say it is hard for a focused young man to find a proper girlfriend. Although he casually got laid once or twice in a long period, just like his peers, he felt he wanted something more, something permanent. Suddenly every girl liked him. He once flaunted his abs, and girls would flaunt his account to explicitly express their fetish desires, so he thought to himself, maybe it wasn't the right time. Maybe it would just come to him someday. Fate would seal his destiny, and in recent occurrences, fate had a lot in store for him. "Maybe I would date a model," he thought, "Their bodies are always infectious, why not?" there is always a thing with models for every boy.

One chilly evening, he sipped his coffee, his workout towel wrapped around his neck, and he saw a text message on his phone screen. It was strange because Lizzy had not contacted him in a while. They had a fling in high school, but Lizzy wasn't interested. She had her eyes firmly focused on her dream to become an elite-level economist. When they talked, there was always something with her that got him. The confidence she exuded with her illustrious descriptive language was a bonus to her good looks. She was a brewed cocktail of beauty and brains. She was a modern woman, independent and determined to carve out her promising career in the field she loved. These thoughts lingered down in his mind even as beads of sweat cascaded down his face. So he decided to focus on the text message. Lizzy wrote, “Where are you at?”

He replied, “At the house drinking coffee.”

She wanted to ask him what he had been about that was always on social media, so he figured out to ask him how he felt. "How do you feel about us meeting for a chat?" She asked playfully. At this moment, his feelings were rekindled, and felt like the empty hole in his heart was filled once again. His heart was racing, not due to exercise but to the prospect of falling in love. He was excited about meeting Lizzy again after a while. They met and had coffee and long chats until it was late, so they had to leave for home.

Several other meetings followed this, and they reopened another chapter of their lives, which was love. They fell in love with each other day by day, and as months went by, they decided to get married and start a family of their own since they both had their dream jobs at different places. They exchanged vows, moved in together, and started a new life. Although they had ups and downs in their marriage, they decided to stick together and fight for their love.

You should never rush into making decisions, especially a lifetime one such as marriage. One should always take the time to select a partner who can stick around despite all the challenges. Fame is good, but should not dictate your life.
