Introduction

A good communication can uplift the health status of a patient and poor communication can deteriorate the health condition of a patient too. In patient-centered care, there are several elements of communication skills that are important to consider as a nurse or an attendant in that place. That will help to keep and maintain high standards and quality service. That will make the medical economy grow, and reduce the level of compromise on the sector. Hence, it is important to know the major things that will make the goal be achieved. These major pillars include knowing the set of communications skills needed, identifying how to teach the communication skills, enrolling the impact of a good communication skill and finally the methods exploring on the best methods that can be used to measure the communication skills. The paper explores the appropriate methods of improving the communication skills by the health care service providers to the patients.
The Set of Skills
It is always important to know the set of communication skill that can be used to a patient. For instance, one there is communication that helps in getting information from the patient, making them feel at ease and pain-free during the healing process. Besides, it is always important to observe the language that can be used towards a patient. for instance, speaking slowly, considering to learn a foreign language, avoiding to speak slang language with the patients, speaking clearly but not loudly, applying the use of body language, proper turn-taking skill, identifying the roadblock of that conversation and applying other communication skills
The Teaching of the Skills
Teaching communication skills is also one of the major ways of developing and improving communication in the health sector. It is advisable for a physician or a nurse to get equipped with the knowledge of communication skill. Itzhaki, PelesBortz, Kostistky, Barnoy, Filshtinsky, & Bluvstein, (2015) explains that nurses ability to work best can also be determined by the knowledge he/she is having in the communication skill. Communication learning can explicitly be done in two major ways. The first one is through getting the written sources in journals, magazine, research and other scholarly devices. The Impact
Good communication skills have some positive impacts on medical centers. These effects include quality of care. Self-efficacy and job satisfaction. To begin with the quality of care, good communication skill improves the contact between the patient and the physician. For instance, when the nurse the patient is in good communication terms, the physician will tend to get a more clarified and relevant information from the patient as compared to when they are not in good communication terms.
Secondly, good communication skill gives self-satisfaction to both the medic and the patient in various ways. According to the research done by Khodadadi, Ebrahimi, Moghaddasian, & Babapour, (2013) patient in a hospital feel more satisfied when the physicians maintain high communication contact with them. That signifies the satisfactory impact of maintaining contact between the health care attendant and the patient.
Lastly, another impact of enhancing good communication skills in the medical industry is that it gives on the self-efficacy. Basically, this is the ability of one to identify their potential. When a medical care attendant applies good communication skills, they tend to realize their potential to perform in the Medical Centre. That gives them the ability to evaluate themselves and even compare their performances as far as service to the patients is concerned. For instance, a nurse may be able to compare their performances before and after adopting the communication skills.
Methods Used in Measuring Communication Skills
It is always important to measure and evaluate the communication skills of a physician in the hospital sector. In countries like America, the government has even, come up with measures that ensure the patients give the feedback on the quality of services they are being offered (Levinson, Lesser, & Epstein, 2010). That has been done through a body called the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) which acts as the voice of patients. through such assessment, the physicians are always kept on toes to provide quality services.

Therefore, a good communication skill is a necessity in the medical sector of an institution. it helps to improve the life of individuals as far as their health status is concerned. It is evident that when the nurses, doctors and other medical physicians apply good communication skills during their course of duty, they not only benefit the patient but also improve on their career and skills.
