Introduction
Globally, most people travel to the United States of America for adventure and cultural interactions with the different indigenous communities. However, the issue of racial discrimination, stereotyping as well as prejudice have severely affected the aspect of communication among the Americans and the immigrant tourists in the USA. Most of the International tourists uniquely African tourists have raised their concerns over several issues in regards to the racial prejudice they went through during their travels in the USA. They complained of the racial discrimination against their skin color. Consequently, it realized that racial discrimination not only mirrors on foreign tourists but also people in various learning and business institutions in America. Additionally, refugees migrating from their original countries of birth into America, particularly for permanent resettlement basis, are in reality facing several challenges related to the gender, racial, linguistic, cultural, class as well as ethnic discrimination.
New immigrants have their own cultural beliefs from their original homeland. Hence, they may not easily cope up with the various cultural beliefs and ideologies related to the new society that receives them. For example, the USA has cultural diversity among its indigenous communities (Weber et al. 2014). Therefore, this aspect makes it very possible for people from all parts of the world to interact with the Americans freely, but there exist several issues of racial discrimination that finally, hinders them from interacting with one another. Cultural diversification in America has led to the rise of racial discrimination, prejudice as well as stereotyping within the American and other parts of the global society.
The Problem of the Objectives
The constant increase in the number of immigrants in the United States of America has been continuously the primary issues creating attention to most human rights activists and organizations. This issue needs to be addressed at all time refute any form of discrimination on the minority group or less unfortunate in the society since everybody has all the necessary rights and freedom to exist in the community (McKown, 2013). Racial discrimination has lived in American culture for a very long period even before the civilization periods. In addition to the extent that modernity concerning the cultural beliefs and diversity, the research on both white as well as non-white races clearly shows that there exists a widespread ethnic and racial discrimination in America.
Consequently, these cases have frequently been considered to be very severe, particularly for the foreign and new minority immigrants in American society. For example, immigrants in the USA after 1970 are reported to have severely suffered physically, spiritually, mentally, socially, and culturally due to the challenges related to racial discrimination as well as prejudice. Notably, one of the most pretentious immigrant societies is the Hmong communal.
Hypothesis Statements and Main Purpose of the Study
Generally, most research studies, as well as the reports related to the racial discrimination and stereotyping, originates from the various stories as well as a medium more willingly than the studies generated from the social studies about our societies. Essentially, most of the new immigrants, especially the Hmong Community, claims that they first learned about the existence of the stereotyping and racial discrimination in the United States of America. Typically, issues related to prejudice and racial discrimination always occur because of various factors such as poor communication, lack of adequate knowledge, cultural disparities, and language barriers among the interacting communities (Weber et al. 2014). The hypothesis statement of this research proposal is to indicate that the main reason why immigrants subjected to the racial abuse in America is because of the ideology that the indigenous communities lack adequate knowledge, information as well as awareness about them. Hence, this proposal is to help in designing an effective method of study that will be applied by both teachers and other education professionals adopt a new strategy to control racial abuse among individuals of different races in the entire world. Additionally, the hypothesis will also help in establishing a method, which will be used to preserve immigrants' cultural practices and beliefs in America.
Literature Review of the Research Proposal
According to the research study on discrimination (2010), it realized that America as a country at one time belonged to the indigenous American communities. The indigenous inhabitants believed that America was a free land with no owner, because most of them took small pieces of land, settled and made them their permanent residential areas. Nevertheless, immigrants from other foreign countries due to slavery or farming desires began to settle in the area, which later led to the building of the United States of America (McKown, 2013). The current intervention concerning the foreign immigrants in the USA can be followed back to 1966 when the settler's regulation was approved, allowing foreign immigrants to enter the United States of America. Secondly, emergences of a high level of maturity, scholarship programs, as well as growth, have immensely supported the immigration process of foreigners in the USA. Through the various scholarship programs in America by scholars allowed students from all the racial background across the globe to acquire education services and freely interact with one another. These establishments allowed various people from different racial backgrounds to outlook the racial and ethnic ideology differently as a tool for justice and equality in American society. Lastly, the consistent growth of the immigrant community in the USA has also led to an increase in racial discrimination and stereotyping in the entire country. Therefore, because of this reason, this particular research proposal examines some of the critical terms concerning racial discrimination and inequality in America. Firstly, the term prejudice referred to as the antagonism based on the inflexibility and defective generation. Most researchers usually regard it as a negative attitude towards others. Secondly, the other term is called prejudice which means the unique judgmental image that always crosses someone's mind when a specific social group of people thought. Lastly, the term discrimination defined as the unfair treatment of people based on their skin color, gender, race, cultural beliefs, social status, and religious beliefs.
Methods of Data Collection and Sampling Method
The research study will target the immigrant population who are living in the cities of New York and California who have gone through the racial abuse. Additionally, some people have eye-witnessed the harmful activity carried out to others without any action taken. The socially responsible and community leaders will also get involved in the research process to come up with the exclusive data from their office statistical data records. Again, the data collection process will take from the thirty-three participants of the immigrants and other leaders. The participants in this study will come from different types of people and racial backgrounds such as students, elders, intellectuals, teachers and parents, and local agency representative. For instance, the ethnic composition in the research study includes 20% Native Americans, 70% Hmong Americans, and 10% African Americans. The ages of the participants add individuals between 18 and 70 years old (Weber et al. 2014). The research personnel will select those who will participate in the research study process. The selection process of participants in the study will happen on a random basis to specifically have only those who have had experiences of racial abuse in the United States of America. The research will effectively apply factorial design in the analysis process. The factorial design will allow participants to answer research questions without being compromised. Thus, in this particular case, the study will apply 2*2 models.
Implications of the Study Results
In general, the central ideology of the study is to have a minimum problem of communication and make the research session appear very interactive by various people from different racial backgrounds. The first session will involve mixed gender as well as mixed-race people with a mixture of Americans and immigrants. Again, the second session will engage only the participation of female immigrants. The third session will engage participants of male immigrants. Lastly, the final session will join a mixed-gender from the Native Americans only.
Potential Research Limitations During the Study
The study will conduct via the literature review from the original data collected as well as the surveys that will focus on people and group interviews. Nevertheless, the sample size of the participants may be small, even though the participants' turn out may be high. Additionally, a generalization of the data may be implicated based on the qualitative methods of immigrants and native residents in America during the research process. Hence, though the factors under initiation, the research process generally consider factors leading to racial discrimination and prejudice.
Methods to Ensure Effectiveness of the Research Study
During the study process, data collected will store in both soft as well as hard copy materials for the future reference. Similarly, the research study will also be carried out for all the participants involved, who are both Native inhabitants and new immigrants to control any form of unfairness during the research study process. Therefore, these methods will ensure transparency in the whole research process.
