Introduction
Please complete the following information for each member of your team (do not group team member's together in this report as I need to know the progress of each individual team member and not a sub-team). Be sure to include your responsibilities and progress. Please list the names in alphabetical order, by the last name, and do not leave any section unanswered.
Please use the below as a template and remove or write over the sample data given.
Team Member and Responsibility:
Jane Doe
Jane is emotionally available and a very active member of the group. She is in charge of researching Middle East demographics and mostly looks at the population demographics. She will use various resources such as FIU library, website, and other online resources. She has commenced her report and has found interesting internet sites that will be of great help to our report.
John Smith
John Smith has an experience in graphic designs, therefore, he will help in collecting the graphics that will be used in the report. In his graphic collection, he will consult various resources that include legal documents, magazines, websites, newspapers, and experts in this field. He has reported to the group that he found an interesting program that may help us in doing the report.
Pat Smith
Since we began the report we haven't heard from him. He seems to have a low level of commitment because he doesn't show any effort in contacting any member of the group. Every member of the group is concerned and we have been trying to know the cause of his silence but we haven't been successful. Our team leader has sent him several messages and we hope that he will respond by the end of this week.
Summary of Overall Team Communications
The overall team communication lacks a strong foundation that can discuss individual weaknesses or strength and discuss work styles that will be used by the group. The group also lacks proper communication skills in agreeing on the individual and group goals. Agreeing on a common goal will help us agree on the individual contribution and quality of our report. Our group has had some difficulty communicating.
Jane and John need to work closer but due to their conflicting schedules which appears to be taking too much time between messages. Therefore, we should also come up with a small written communication plan that contains report information, objectives of the report and a communication strategy that our group will use.
Overall Team Progress
An effective teamwork should have different ideas and viewpoints that are heard. However, our group lacks specific purpose except for opinion and ideas exchange. Our team leader is a directive where he is able to control the group and foster an open process. He pays attention to the group issue, contents that are provided by the group members, and does a follow up of the group task. He is also able to monitor individual progress but lacks motivation skill. Every member of our group is positive and is avoiding to jump into conclusion of what is affecting Pat Smith.
