Collection of patient's data helps health centers facilitates invention of protection measures aimed at achieving a less of disease-free environment for human survival. As a result, Press Ganey conducted research in Texas Health Resource which is one of the largest healthcare delivery systems in North Texas. The company was the chosen based on the fact that it is among the largest survey firms in the United States, which is cost-effective, accuracy and its previous performance is pleasing. Hence, data provided by Press Ganey is perceived to be accurate and helpful to an organization (THR, 2015).
The interview was conducted face to face through Skype at Texas since technology has provided a platform where people can communicate effectively face to face without involving physical movements, hence reducing costs of an interview. The interviewed was appropriate for the task because of their good company reputation concerning patient's data collection. All patients received the interview since the company wanted to get accurate information based on facts rather than assumptions. Patient's data involved number of patients administered in the hospital against diseases they are suffering from (Thomas, Charles & Daniel, 2018).
The surveys were sent out through the use of electronic means such as emails. Electronic means are more secure compared to traditional means such as paper since data can be retrieved. Besides, it saves time and costs. The company hopefully expected to receive 100% survey return rate however it achieved 98% due to several factors. For instance, some patients were in comma hence unable to respond while others were not willing to share their personal information in fear of disclosure to the public. The survey registered a good survey return rate because questions were simple and relevant to the project (THR, 2015).
Once the data is obtained, the facility sends it to the organization at first. Additionally, the facility uses this data to conduct medical research that will help achieve a healthier environment suitable for human survival. Through this, scientists come up with more effective medicines that are preventive as well as curing diseases. The organization perceives the information as helpful because it helps in improving patient's service such as administration of quality services, improving patient's communication and improving comprehension concerning diseases risks and causes among others (Thomas, Charles & Daniel, 2018).
Data feedback is provided to providers and frontline staff through emails and posting on organizations website, accessed by the authorized people only. Feedback provided to the front line staff helps to improve patient's safety. Most of hospital operational failures occur as a result of weak communication between frontline staff and physicians (Stephen, 2018). As a result of this survey, Texas Health Resource in 2015 managed to create an integrated system which incorporates major strategic and transformative initiatives aimed at improving organizational effectiveness aims efficiency (THR, 2015).
Conclusion
From the interview above, it is eminent that data collection is not only helpful to the health sector but also in health care among other sectors. In the healthcare sector, patient's data is mostly used for research on quality healthcare systems, improving patient's safety, improving understanding on disease perils and cause as well as evaluating the appropriateness of government policies among others. Once data is obtained, confidentiality and privacy ought to be embraced as expected by the patients, only authorized people should access it. Therefore, companies ought to conduct an accurate survey and improve response rate for the benefit of the sector at large.
