I was surprised about the increasing number of new disease outbreaks that happen annually after I saw the WHO website. The very surprising fact motivated me to do something important about the issue. I have decided to apply for Monash International Leadership Scholarship and major in Pharmaceutical Science. The knowledge will help me to attain my dreams and save people and improve their quality of life. My passion for Pharmaceutical Science career began back in high school after going through a series of experiences. I remember I loved and joined the chemistry club. In my second year, my interest in the medical field flickered after remembering that a simple mold can save millions of lives. I received many awards, such as the 1st Prize of Universities Sanata Dharma Chemistry Olympiad in 2017, after participating in Chemistry Extracurricular Activities. I thought how good it could be if I can save through my invention through participating in live events in underdeveloped hamlets. Joining a three-day service in an orphanage inspired me to help those in need. Therefore, my experience in the organization would help me become an entrusted leader, for instance, being an assistant manager, a coordinator, presenter, and a moderator in my school would strengthen my will and give more to society.
After going all through those experiences, I realized that I aspire to ease other people's pains and sufferings. I dream of becoming a researcher to develop new medicines because I believe that even great doctors will be hampered in treating their patients without efficient drugs. Being a researcher has a strong foundation in the goals of chemistry and the achievements I made. Researching has been my passion for exploring the field of medicine. It has brought my passion and brings together my aspiration and carry out experiments in the medical field. I am determined to meet my goals according to my aspiration. My main goal is to invent a drug that can cure cancer and a drug that is affordable to every patient. My other personal experience that has stimulated me to pursue a pharmaceutical science career is seeing my teacher, who helplessly struggled to buy expensive cancer drugs. In this case, I am pushed to have this goal. I will love to open a charitable pharmacy to help and educate others on the importance of proper medication than using traditional medicine because the drugs are unaffordable. Besides, after the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, I am more encouraged to pursue my career in the pharmaceutical industry to save a life. Monash degree is the driving force in my career. I will love to research and get the treating drug for the pandemic that has taken many lives and deteriorated the economy.
I believe through the Monash pharmaceutical science degree; I will achieve all my goals. My inspiration to join Monash has been stimulated after knowing that they offer drugs development specialization, and it is the best organization globally. The degree will help me reach my profession as I have always aspired. Monash degree set the foundations for my career path. I hope that I will be granted this scholarship. I assure you to be an ambassador, as evidenced by my prior experiences, hard work determination, and eagerness to be better always.
