Introduction

For the past two decades, sexual orientation cases have been widely reported from various parts of the word. Heterosexuality that takes the forms of both Lesbianism and Gayism has their causal factors far from being understood. "The Science Behind A More Meaningful Understanding of Sexual Orientation" is an article drawing much of scientific explanations to sexual orientation from ASSAP Report. The critical issue overlooked in the article is whether people who are attracted to same-sex did develop an orientation to sex before they were born. The article also explores issues that are biological, such as gays' genes that exist in individuals, as a heritable trait. In addition to this is a close association between men's sexual orientation and specific chromosomal regions.

The article also employed research and studies; for instance, those aimed at establishing whether their existing complex interactions between genes and environments could be held responsible for sexual orientation's heritable traits. In one of its studies, homosexuality was strongly linked to both environmental components and hereditary traits. Also, men considered homosexual were confirmed to have elder brothers who were older than men considered heterosexual. It was simultaneous, considering homosexual lesbians and heterosexual women. In another research, the science of understanding sexual orientation involved the correlation of both identical twin and dizygotic twins to establish whether gene identity played an important role in orientation. In its findings, homosexuality was common with identical twins due to inherited gene identity shared by them.

Consequently, epigenetics is an essential factor in relating genes to environmental factors in the uterus or after birth. Epi-marks were considered to mediate the effects of environments on gene effects. The marks get erased from generation to another but may be passed from generation to another (IFLScience, 2020). X- Chromosomes to homosexual sons skew, especially when X-chromosomes appear inactivated. More important to note is that X-chromosomes have more significant implications in the determination of sexual orientation.

In a study by Future Studies Academy, sexual orientation is determined biologically. It, therefore, failed to associate either of genes or factors that are environmental to it. However, its findings considered a complex set of interactions between the two to be determinant to an individual's sexual orientation. It also criticized the association of chromosomal region to gene mutation and sexual disorder, confirming that a specific region of X-Chromosome greatly determines sexual orientation.

In her book "Straight: The surprisingly short history of heterosexuality," Hanne Blank denied that sexual orientation, particularly heterosexuality, could be biologically determined. Hanne thought that biology is subject to change, with some like 'ejacularche' remaining spontaneous. Consequently, she acknowledged that heterosexuality to be rooted in relationships existing between people of distinct sexes and genders in addition to biologies. She also felt those environments from which most of the people who turn to be heterosexuals plays a crucial role in its determination. The need to extract pleasure, express affection, and to intensify both social and emotional bonds by individuals determines orientation. Exploration of sexual orientation was considered to be determined by the individual's desire to take a sexual interest, considering both biological sex and gender. Hanne also considered various activities that are sexual to be social activities.

Description Of Myths To Sexual Orientation; The Missing Voice In Regards To Hanne Blank's Work

In the article, several myths and facts about sexual orientation are explored. Heterosexual and all individuals in society have the myth that they have the knowledge of causal factors to sexual orientation. Gays, Lesbians, and bisexuals know that their attraction to same-sex partners begins when they are under seven years of age. Others learn of the attraction while adults. Consequently, the article indicates that the determination of sexual orientation is between before or after birth. This is far from what Hanne held that sexual orientation is rooted in relationships that existed between people of distinct sexes, genders, and biologies rather than age.

Early experience in sex indicates an individual's sexual orientation as an adult. Lesbians, Gays, and Bisexuals have early experiences of heterosexism while being thought to remain Lesbians, Gays, and Bisexuals. The article did put consideration of the commonness of heterosexuality and homosexuality between the two categories of twins. In addition to this, consideration was put to establish sexual orientation to lesbians and gays, keeping contrast on heterosexuality and homosexuality and the extents. Both Hanne and the article's Author agree to the myth that both lesbians and gays easily get identified by both their manners and characteristics that are physical.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it remains complex to understand the science of sexual orientation. Universal definitions of what is referred to as sexual orientation, heterosexuality and homosexuality are yet to be known. Consequently, we have to remain held to the facts that lesbians, bisexuals, and gays are comfortable with both their physical and biological statuses. They don't put their regard as to be of the opposite sex. Finally, despite that scientific knowledge on sexual orientation is in deficit, homosexuality is not a mental disorder cured through psychological interventions. We have to adapt to live healthily with them.
