The paper focuses on using a recorded interview on oral history to analyze the theme of migration. The interview focused on Asian-American history and provided adequate information for analyzing the migration of the Asian-Americans. The interview was conducted Singson Precious who is from the department of history at UCLA's. The interviewee is Geaga Jaime, an Asian American with Filipino origin. Jaime is a Filipino American Activist and a member of the Asian & Pacific American Health Forum and Filippino Task Force on AIDS (UCLA, 2011).

Migration of Americans with an Asian origin is a prominent topic and important for oral history studies. The interviewer researched on Asian American activists and narrowed down to Filipino American activists on the west coast. The interview transcript narrates the interviewee's life history and experiences, including how his parents planned to migrate to the US, the challenges they faced in crossing the border, how he struggled to obtain a Filipino identity in the US and challenges in settling. The interviewee explains how they faced "exclusion and limitation" during immigration and how they finally found their way to Los Angeles.

The paper uses some primary sources to contextualize the interview to the topic of immigration. The primary sources provide precise and updated information on the migration of Asian Americans. The major primary sources are video recordings of oral history interview with activists. Scholarly sources, including books and journal articles, will also be used to provide a deep understanding of the topic and place it in the context of the interview. For example, Mazumdar Sucheta on an international review of social history is a very reliable resource about Asian American migration and life between slavery and citizenship (Mazumdar, 2007). the journal article was recently published and contain relevant material for writing the paper. Its conceptual framework provides all the variable needed to write the paper.
