What types of opportunities do CTSOs offer for CTE programs on the local, state, and national levels?

Local-level: Ensure that students get involved in understanding the relationship between community and banking institutions. Students are offered a chance to directly get involved with the local community.

State: Planning and implementation of CTE programs that work in support of a career in banking services. CTSOs also ensure that CTE programs conform to the national mission and purpose of each career development.

National Level: Spearhead and take charge in providing leadership development opportunities to all members taking CTE programs at local, district, state, and regional stages. Ensure that the public is aware of programs designed to project the professionalism of each career ("Curriculum Framework Statutory Reference," 2019).

How do you inform students about the opportunities that are available to them and encourage active participation in their organizations?

Students get to be informed about opportunities available to them through handbooks provided by CTSOs. They are highlighting the benefits of being a member of CTSO such as scholarship, career development, and even educational trips. Students should be encouraged to plan and create their career goals ("Career Areas & Skill Sets - Oregon Department of Education," 2019). Once they have created a career, it is the work of educator to inform them of best CTSO to engage in. Students should be encouraged to attend public events within their communities for them to have an idea of CTE programs and how they can implement them.

Speaking personally, have you participated in one of these organizations as a leader or a student?

I have participated as a student. I took part in a community event whose objective was to sensitize people about modern banking services.

What impact do you see this having on your life, academically, professionally, or personally?

Participating in the organizational event has had an impact on my life, academics, and profession. My life has changed since at the end of the event I was able to gain knowledge about reasons why most people were not embracing modern banking services. Academically I was able to learn about bank loss measures and functions of daily cash processes. Professionally I was able to learn the importance of customer service in the banking sector. Understanding customer service offered me a chance to put in practice class teachings on communication skills.
