Our index person John Wells, is a 48-year-old man. Grandson to David Clarkson and Mary Clinton, and Jack Carrington and Sarah Jolene. John’s grandfather, David Jackson, was diagnosed with hypertension at the age of 30 and died at the age of 37. John is the son of Nancy Jones and Martin Lawson. The relationship between John and his father is fused, and the two tend to have a rather bad influence on the latter’s behavior. The duo smoke and drink alcohol together. Martin Lawson is also a victim of drug abuse. John has two sisters, Nancy and Michele. His brother Greg Johnson was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy at the age of 27 and died at the age of 32. Both Nancy Wretcher and Michele knight are married. However, Mitchell has recently separated from her husband. Before the separation, the two have a daughter, Linda Turner. Mitchell has suffered from emotional abuse from her current ex-husband due to her nutrition status (being overweight), and this, John states that could have caused the separation of the couple. Mitchell also has had a heart transplant at the age of 26.
On the other hand, Nancy Wretcher John’s older sister is married to Michael Dwayne. John states that he has a strained relationship with Nancy (a relation of distrust). John also has a violent relationship with his sister’s husband, and this could be the reason for the strained relationship with Nancy. Nancy and Michael have three children; Jake, Richard, and Anna. Richard diagnosed with pediatric cardiomyopathy in the recent past.
Conclusion
Genetics, substance abuse, and obesity are the common health risk factors associated with the cardiovascular diseases that are present in this family. Family members should ensure that they conduct genetic tests to their future generation for early detection of ant cardiovascular disease. Early detection aids in the management of symptoms and laying out of health care plans for any positive results. Some of the health-promoting activities would include; promoting physical activity, programs for promoting cessation of smoking, and early literacy. Lifestyle modifications should also be vital in managing heart diseases. Family members involved in any form of substance abuse should stop immediately. Alcohol and smoking can cause significant damage to the heart. Patients also taught how to take their weight and accurately, measure their blood pressure, manage their medications if using any and healthy eating habits, as well as different healthy ways of managing stress. In conclusion, self-care goes a long way in the prevention and management of health diseases.
