Introduction
The Enterprise Architecture focuses on helping businesses like MedAMore align their resources and practices with information technology systems. The report identified the Zachman Framework as the most suitable Enterprise Architecture that allows the company views their information systems and enterprises in various perspectives, apart from creating an organized interrelationship between all branches.
MedAMore's operations increased, and they acquired more outlets with operations spanning over 200 branches elicited the need for a more integrated and powerful Enterprise Architecture. Zachman would let MedAMore readily transform its activities, as it adds more regional branches to their management portfolio.
Zachman offers a better method for improving its organizational architecture. Scheer, (2015) argued that Zachman's proactive feature allows MedAMore model their existing 30 branches, processes and functions as the business grows to over 200 offices concurrently in operation. The report highlights the main feature that requires to put in place to manage their complex business environment.
As MedAMore intends to put in place the Zachman's framework, it gets divided into a 6 by 6 matrix which gets distinguished based on the audience represented by the rows and columns. The problems noted earlier are supposed to get responded appropriately, (Schekkerman, 2014).
Zachman Framework Column
The data section of the architecture focuses on the business information, data, and objects. MedAMore handles tones of information distributed in each of its 200 branch locations. Zachman would let MedAMore maneuver with their business functionalities, not limited to the transfer of data between branches, and regional specialization.
MedAMore businesses are located in 300 different locations, and Zachman would facilitate fulltime networking between the branches. Schekkerman, (2014) suggested that MedAMore's businesses located in different locations incur several diversification in warehousing, reorder levels and demand for products. Insurance plans differ in most of the regional branches, and thus Zachman comes in handy.
It might not be easy telling the workflows and business schedules in the branches, but the institution needs to make sure that Zachman's framework enables the firm to manage their time and resources effectively. Varma, (2017) identified that MedAMore's choice for Zachman needed to resolve the problem of a difficult communication between different branches. With over 200 drug stores and warehouses, there is a vital need for dedicated communication lines from the head offices and individual branches.
Zachman Framework Rows
The rows illustrate MedAMore organizational perspective according to stakeholders, like customers, employees and financial institutions. MedAMore's core objective involves facilitating communication between all its branches located in diverse locations. MedAMore is headed from a central point, although the individual branches engage in individual activities. The Zachman ensures that all branches engage in business activities without interfering with other branches. The business is also able to sustain supplies from its warehouses to branches smoothly, (Scheer, 2015).
Most importantly, if MedAMore makes proper utilization of Zachman all the 200 outlets, warehouses and head office would engage in successful transactions. It is the role of branches, however, to determine the activities, without interference from the headquarters. The business mandates the branches to process business activities, but system collects and integrates the data and information across all departments into a form which the managers and stakeholders interpret and make use, (Varma, 2017).
Conclusion
In summary, Zachman is known to offer a solution to the enterprise problems. Individuals and staff based in diverse locations can share the same platform but operate uncontrolled. Zachman provides a robust enterprise system that benefits all employees, customers, and suppliers.
