Introduction

I am majoring on Doctor of Nursing Practice under the tutelage of a nurse practitioner whose role is administering treatment and medical prescription to patients. My field experience is a hospital and is guided by some practices such as evidence-based communication skills, change processes, and interventions I employed. Evidence-based communication skills involved: patient education, seeking to improve the patient's cognitive skills in coming to terms with their illnesses, counselling to improve patient psychology and attending to the ill. Critical thinking skills achieved by application of logical principles, rigorous standards of evidence and careful reasoning to the analysis and discussion of issues to performance techniques and bolster patient care. This was accompanied by an appraisal based on the careful analytical evaluation.

Another evidenced communication skill is on Interrogation which entails employing the questioning techniques of open-ended, and closed questions; I sought to investigate the patients' medical condition. All this was in an attempt to materialize a therapeutic nurse/patient relationship. The relationship is based on three core attitudes and values: communicate empathy; communicate respect and communicate genuinely. Setting clinical boundaries which encompass behaviour, language touch, and space (Zaccagnini, & White, 2010). Building up the therapeutic encounter: patient-oriented introductions, details of our appointment, my roles as a nurse and forging a bond with my patient. Retaining the therapeutic encounter: the actual communication, listening actively, Employing verbal, non-verbal skills, and keeping my cognizance on barriers to effective communication and the hallmark of communication: "verbal and non-verbal communication should be effective, framed in a way that the patient relates with and understands." Also, I was guaranteed to protect confidential information. Finally, ending the therapeutic encounter where prepared, fruitful and accomplished goals result in met solutions and an optimistic patient.

The other issues are on change processes and interventions. Change is inevitable, and its effects are multi-dimensional and far-fetched to enable nursing practices to predict the future and be ahead of time. As nursing adapts to this, there has been an advancement in quality healthcare, medicine and surgery heralded by technology. The only intervention is positively conceding change and motivating nurses to embrace it.

These evidence-based strategies enabled me to meet my DNP essentials and objectives because they were my points of reference and my protocols. My DNP essentials and objectives such as effective communication skills with patients, patent/nurse relationship, critical analysis and their application within the confines of my medical practice enabled me to evaluate the patients' world (Zaccagnini & White, 2010). I sought to accomplish first-hand experience and view of nursing based on my interaction with patients. The model ensured that the purpose of my study is feasible hence its realization.

As such an outline of essentials and their objectives is laid down as:

The roles, responsibilities, and vision of a nurse as a member of a professional team, founded on outlined national guidelines proposals or recommendations. I sought out the objective of aligning my practice with the national expectations and the goals of the nursing practice.

Diverse perspectives to the Science and art of evolution and advancement as apply to practices of nursing. Here my objective sought to incorporate skills in the changing landscape of the nursing experience. They include technology, globalization, labour laws, and health policies. Also is the application of innovation to address the wants of patients. What change means for patients.

Devise a system change, a program to address the individual needs of the client and realize a water-tight healthcare system that maps to the needs, capabilities, and preferences of patients to ensure Medicaid and nursing is appreciated and healthcare prioritized since the patients can identify to it.

Employ data collection and analysis in improving healthcare standards. Critical analysis and evaluation of fieldwork data to ensure health services are in congruence to market needs. It also seeks to identify gaps in healthcare and plug them effectively.

Cultivate a culture of excellence via constant learning. Putting theory into practice and invoking it to solve problems of the society and introduce solutions to challenges facing patients and the health sector in general

Build and grow networks with nursing fellows and patients to achieve a heterogeneous informed group of people with varied capabilities and viewpoints. It encourages teamwork in healthcare. Healthcare is thus cross-cutting and integrated.

Further research, innovation and implement products of innovation into practise, and tangible achievements. There is a need for professional training, coaching, extension, and research in the field of nursing. It frequently involves access to information that achieves informed decision-making.

Experience with Healthcare Policy and Advocacy

In my experience with healthcare policy and advocacy, I was actively involved and lessons learned are: healthcare policy and advocacy are of progressive, beneficial essence to nursing professionals as It is instrumental in upholding patient welfare that is health, safety, their rights, entitlements, and basic freedoms. Also, it agitates for professional standards of practice in the profession of nursing by stipulating clear guidelines and conventional codes of nursing. Another benefit is that health care policy and advocacy promotes, implements, monitors, and identifies gaps and challenges in healthcare policy framework. The benefit is done to ensure continuous awareness and review of health laws to match up to the dynamics of a changing world, seal loopholes, and fill lacunae in healthcare legislation. There is also the need to propose, craft policy dialogue, deliberations and ensure solutions are affected. The effect can come by joining forces with the policy makers and participants in a bid to implement solutions to problems. Here key players will ascertain, probe and disseminate awareness on challenges facing health.

Healthcare policy and advocacy also highlight the interests of minority and disadvantaged groups. The highlight goes a long way in addressing inequalities, stigmatization especially of PLWHA and eradication of inhumane gender cultures and norms. Lastly is the provision of tools, skills, financial and technical support to institutions articulating health care policy and advocacy? For example, subscription to their publications helps the population keep abreast with trends in health care policy and advocacy. Based on the context, I envision an informed civil society, policymakers, and the stakeholders in health jointly working in harmony to push for the healthcare policy and agenda (DeNisco & Barker, 2013). The legislation acquaintance also contributes to guiding matters decision making. Engaging them in equal measure will be a plus. Again, sponsor bills and laws to improve healthcare, empowering the Health Policy and advocates committee collectively abbreviated as (NANN). The step will boost healthcare advocacy even at the grassroots level and strengthen public health institutes. Supplementary training is needed in the adoption of the varying nature of health cooperation and the increasing prominence of global health in international politics. Appreciate that the DNP program is couched compatibly to fit in this new paradigm. A Comparison and contrasted outlook of this fieldwork to previous ones is that the latter was more detailed, aimed at gauging my pragmatic expertise, and improve my cognitive skills in the field of nursing. More detailed research, investigation and even more patient-focused strategies were employed to improve the medical experience.
