Introduction

In most developing countries, there is a high growth rate which gas greatly negatively on the social development and public health in a country. Thus, it strains the inadequate medical resources in the public health sector, and since the public health sector might not meet the demand of rapid population, most people will die as a result of poor sanitation and inadequate food. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) should implement a policy that reduces the population growth rate. Thus, the policy will reduce the death rate in the country.

An increased, population has great chance of getting exposed to waterborne diseases and communicable diseases such as a whooping cough that can be transmitted easily from one person to another. Research which was conducted by the CDC department finds that developing countries are most affected (Giardina, & Medina, 2013).

More so, waterborne diseases deteriorate the health of many people, and it may cause death if not treated on time. Hence, poor public health mainly arises as a result of poor sanitation and rapid population growth which leads to depletion of natural resources and also a shortage of food. To reduce the negative impacts on the public health, our community leaders have a task of address the importance of family planning and also set policies to curb down rapid population growth. The increased population growth rate has negative impacts on people as illustrated below the research done by the Rio De Janeiro summit.

The Impacts of Rapid Population Growth and Poor Sanitation in Public Health

Death

Notably, there is a high death rate as a result of poor sanitation caused by air pollution by industries and people hence increasing death rate in public. Based on the bar graph above, in 2015 poor hygiene was recorded to be the main emerging issue that leads to highest death rate and in 2018, alarming population growth is the most emerging issue in the public health that causes high death rate.

The Population Growth Against Health Risks and Food

Rapid population growth leads to a shortage of food in the country hence causing adverse impacts on the public health (Sim, & McKee, 2011). Rapid population growth is currently an emerging issue in the public health since it led to food shortage and therefore people will go to dump sites to pick disposed of food material hence increasing health risks that are caused by the contaminated food.

Additionally, as a result of food shortage caused by rapid population growth, many people will suffer from malnutrition's since they will not get a balanced diet. The most affected by this problem of malnutrition's are the children's since they have weak immune systems.

Picture 1 illustrates people who are at the dump site looking for disposed of food since their higher growth rate as a result of a shortage of food. Therefore, the waste disposal material has great impact on the public health since people who eat foods already disposed of food are highly exposed to several diseases. Picture 2 shows children who are eating in poor condition hence they are at the risk of public health hazards. If the children are not given balance diet, likely they will suffer from malnutrition.

Population Growth and Ecosystem

The imbalanced population growth and ecosystems can impact the public health negatively. For instance, some coastal areas are overutilized hence there is a dense population and therefore, most people in the coastal belt dump there waste into the rivers. The waste material contains toxic and harmful substances hence when disposed to the water bodies it increases the risks of individual healthy lives. Global warming which is caused by the ozone layers is part of the ecosystem, and it is a very crucial issue that facilities drought in a country hence it impacts negatively on the public health.

As per the pie chart results, it clearly illustrates that human population occupies a higher percentage of the earth and a minimal portion for the other environment. Thus, it's true that the rapid population exerts great pressure on the ecosystem hence leading to high pollution of the environment. Therefore, it led to great exposure to public health hazards such as drought which may lead to the high death rate.

However, a good ecosystem has positive impacts on the public health, and therefore our community leaders should encourage people to develop a healthy and conducive environment. These will lead to a good ecosystem which is very favorable for a human being (Lankow et al. 2012). A poor ecosystem has negative impacts on the public health, and thus it can lead to the high death rate. The community leaders and the organizations official of CDC should join hands together and fight against poor ecosystem which is caused by human activities.

Conclusion

In our local community, we have a hardworking and responsible leader who is working in the CDC organization. Therefore, I have decided to select him to give us his perspectives and input on the emerging issue of rapid population growth and poor sanitation which greatly impacts the public health negatively. As the official of our community, I would request you to gives us the perspectives and input on the emerging issue affecting public health in our society based on your real-world experience about the same issue. I will appreciate getting your feedback within the next four weeks so that we can adapt to the inputs of the issue early and therefore we can rescue more people in the community who might die because of the issue.

The issue is clearly illustrated by the following infographics which describe the impacts of rapid population growth and poor sanitation in public health against death for three consecutive years. According to the information in the graph, poor sanitation and rapid population growth has been recorded to be the main emerging issue in the public health which has caused a large number of deaths.

Therefore, to curb down this emerging issue in the public health, strict policies should be implemented. Our community leaders have been talking about how to reduce rapid population growth, but for the past one year, there have been no changes. Since you are working in the organization to curb down this issue in the community, I would like you set rules in the organization that will reduce the population growth rate. It will be of great significance if the rules will be implemented in the community before the end of this year. Finally, kindly find some techniques that can be applied in the community to improve sanitation that is also impacting public health negatively hence once this emerging issue is completely dealt with, death rates in the society will also reduce.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Essay:

How has rapid population growth harmed public health in developing nations?

Rapid population growth in developing nations strains the already scarce public health resources, leading to poor sanitation and food shortages, leading to higher death rates due to waterborne and communicable diseases, malnutrition and food shortages.

Are there any consequences associated with poor sanitation due to rapid population growth?

Poor sanitation exacerbated by rapid population growth increases the risk of waterborne diseases and air pollution-related health concerns, potentially increasing death rates while creating health hazards from eating contaminated food or being exposed to toxic materials in waste materials. This poses greater health threats that must be dealt with properly for survival.

How does rapid population growth impact ecosystems and public health?

Rapid population growth can severely alter ecosystems, leading to pollution and environmental degradation - potentially creating public health hazards like droughts, increased pollution levels, or negative impacts on overall wellbeing.
