Web-Spinning
Web-spinning language learning is a kind of pedagogical skills acquisition that depends on the global database of authentic materials which are capable of enhancing teaching and learning. It is a platform that focuses on English as a second language learners' experience in WBLL, i.e., web-based language learning activities for overseas students (Yamada, 2009).
Interactive Language Learning
It is the criteria for learning language through the development of meaningful interactions rather than focusing on sentence structures, conjunctions and consciously analyzing increasingly complex linguistic structures (Fromkin, Rodman & Hyams, 2018). Interactive learning is in the direction of developing discussion boards which provides a platform for learners to interact with their fellows in the course of developing meaningful language connotations.
Ideology Learning
It is also known as linguistic ideology learning. It is, therefore, a concept that is used within the field of anthropology and it characterizes possible sets of feelings, and beliefs about languages which are used in social worlds (Yamada, 2009).
Ancient Language Myths
Language originated from Greek mythology that words, expressions, and phrases were the building stones for the current language learning approaches. Words and meanings that originated from Greek include the term Elysium, Dionysian frenzy, chaos among others.
Difference between Prescriptive Grammar and Descriptive Grammar
Descriptive grammar studies patterns and rules which underlie the application and use of words, sentences, and clauses. On the other hand, prescriptive grammar tends to lay regulations that are about what is the incorrect and correct use of language.
Convergent and Divergent Thinking
Convergent thinking refers to the ability to give correct answers without requiring significant creativity in standardized multiple choice tests for intelligence. Divergent thinking is concerned with creativity, and it involves conflicting and competing processes (Yamada, 2009). Today, learning alludes to divergent thinking than convergent as technological advancement has brought learning to another level.
Language Learning Through Listening
Children learn language through listening and later on when their larynx and voice box attains the required alignment, and they tend to start saying meaningful words (Roy, 2015). Language is connected to both mental capability and physical adjustment of larynx and voice box. Humans are born with immature brains that letter start developing and grabbing concepts. Through stages of brain development, learning becomes an automated process as the child start catching ideas (The Human Spark, 2010).
