In addition to the methods provided by the book, the authenticity of an online source can get resolved by checking if the author is anonymous and if the website is a commercial site. If information gets provided by an author who wishes to remain anonymous, there may be chances that the author is not ready to stand by the knowledge that they have provided in the article. Getting information from commercial websites may also be misleading because the companies may provide information meant for promoting their products, which cannot be reliable when gathering unbiased information for research.
