Introduction
This paper will explore the process of business automation, in which the definition expounded and the benefits it has on the business process. The entire process of business automation and the steps that it involves is discussed too. It is a lengthy process that demands the business management to focus on its implementation for it to adequately reflect on the business goals. The benefits that accrue to affirm that applies this concept to its operation discussed therein. It is a great tool that firms should incorporate in their software management to see that the company thrives entirely in the corporate world. The paper will contrast the automation process in the banking industry and the engineering sector.
Business automation process is a strategic plan in which firms apply technology in the organisational personnel and systems by workflows. The processes here are the bits of instructions or activities which see that the company move in the direction that the goals set. This process of business automation is beyond the old traditional management of data and storage to system software advancement. It also includes programs that incorporate every one of one's operations. It is a process that can allow a company to have control certain range of issues, this include; analytics, planning, and development.
The different types of automation about progressive complexity include the following:
Necessary Automation - This form of automation majorly centres on the small, simple tasks in an organisation. It provides a centralised platform all stores of related information kept. For instance when in use of a centralised tool for messaging on a subject or group paves the way for transparency about communication. It helps in place of keeping information away in separate accounts of email.
Process Automation - with this form of automation, the process files and controls the firm's processes for activities that require transparency and consistency. It is opined to be more powerful compared to the necessary automation. This form of automation for management through the dedication of software together with the applications in place.
Integration Automation - It being a bit more complicated compared to process automation, this form of automation allows machines to look after the way human beings perform their activities and do the actions again. In this case, humans have to define the set rules, although, for instance, one can incorporate the BPM software together with the support of custom software. This process could provide with results from a support customer checklist processed to provide complaint about every customer and also assign personnel if required.
Artificial intelligence - The addition of this artificial intelligence automation to integration software allows for decision making in which the technical support resembles that of a human. This kind of system could implement decisions about what to do with the data; it usually regards the information it has learned and constant analysis. For instance, in manufacturing, artificial automation is capable of significantly reducing the supply errors in chain forecasting.
Business process automation is a complex process because of the nature of many business information technology scenario. For instance, in the baking industry, the prospect of information technology is the cloud base, its nature of complexity makes it indeed a challenge. Moreover, the automation event can assume a backseat to forming the whole process by itself. The business automation process based on the first automation procedure, after which analyses and optimisation follow afterwards. The automation process aspects understand that such kind of business as the banking requires rapid changes and sometimes there is often no little time for significant company process restructuring and mapping the projects before that software selection. (Dumas, et al. 2018)
On the other hand, industries like of the Engineering sector has a different view on that automation process. With industrial automation, the process uses system controls like the computers for the automation running of the industrial activities. Found in the manufacturing industry, this process tends to replace the element of humanity and better the rate of production by way of consistent, controlled activities. While in the cases of banking business automation process automates activities and flows of work, in industrial automation scenario, it automates physical aspect of human labour within the workflow and processes.
The robot automation process for instance in the manufacturing sector is an emerging field which only automates the artificial intelligence, robotics and machine earning. It differs from the banking sector where the case is entirely different. Manufacturing reflects smart factories that continuously improve and continuously self-optimise. (Sweigart, et al. 2015)
Business automation process is an integral part of the business operation in the modern era, has some importance and the reasons behind which companies adopt them. Below are the top benefits of employing automation process in the company. They range in some fields like;
Streamline Communication - from emails, conversation, to sticky notes are the ways to go through this aspect. Automation of workflows enables team works to huddle within specific individual items that help get tasks done more simply. The automated software presents a visual dashboard to enhance every request at a go. This process allows that every task in progress occupies its communication line in order for every conversation to be held or recorded in the exact place.
Enforce Accountability - With the process of automation, it allows for processes such as initiation, rejections, approvals, and tasks inputs all inbound to a single performance of the action. Allowing of such a level of transparency in a company promotes accountability among all stakeholders. Also, using the automation process in the business activities assists point out the tasks that are lagging behind. Alternatively, at which level a task tries to be stuck very often.
Minimization of costs and standard errors - Due to the substitution of vulnerabilities of humanity with the correctness of the machine, one can bypass high expenditure related to manual errors and ineffectiveness. Also, inconveniences such as slow sales, late payments, and the payment for goods which are never received all are very costly errors. The automation also helps save on administration costs related to labour.
Keeps a tab on the business process - a system that is automated will not only allow one view status of anyone, it also gives the particular bird's eye of the whole system. Having an automated tool for the workflow, one can be able to trace the number of requests that came through, the number that was approved, the number that got rejected, time spent and the tasks which took most of the time to complete
Establishes an explicit hierarchy approval - with complete customisation of workflow, one can initiate approval of responsibilities which will apply to everyone in the organisation, without the view of the structure of reporting. For a busy supervisor, he does not have to inspect every task, and the employee does not have to create pre-meetings before approval of his project. With business automation, it creates confidence in gaining the knowledge that does not get verification through the proofreader. (Majekodunmi, ET AL. 2018)
Conclusion
Business automation process has proved to become an integral business tool. Manufacturing industries have advanced and employed this process of automates the operation of systems. Though this system of automation of operations differs with the industry, for instance, the banking industry differ with the manufacturing industry. It is evident that the process of automation differs according to the information technology environment of a business. It is a complex process that demands skilled expertise. Employment of this system has a varied number of benefits which include cutting on administration costs.
