Question One: What food(s) do you think was/were the source of Angela and Bridgette's foodborne illness?
The illness of Angela and Bridgette originated from chicken fajita leftovers they ate after reheating them in a microwave. The food could have contained some microbes that would have been produced by the food pathogens that are responsible for causing the disease.
Question Two: Based on their symptoms, the suspected food source(s), and the time of onset, which microorganism(s) may have been responsible for their illness (refer to Tables 12.2, 12.3, and 12.4)?
The microorganisms that are responsible for the illness from the symptoms of the victims are Salmonella species Bacillus cereus (toxin). The organisms are mostly found in poultry products like chicken.
Question Three: Identify potential sources of foodborne illness for each of the meals the girls ate over the weekend.
The foods that are the victims feed on that weekend is likely to contain the pathogens that cause the foodborne illness. The meat they feed on would have to carry the pathogen "salmonella species E. col0157: H7" from the hot dog that the victims feed at the street vendor which probably would not have been warmed, or contain some moisture. Additionally, the chicken fajita leftovers can be responsible for the pathogens because the food was heated in a microwave which could have been contaminated by the metal. However, the pathogens can be transmitted through dirty hands after the victims had been having fun and might have failed to wash their hands before eating the hotdog.
Question Four: What could have been done differently (at any stage of food storage, preparation, or handling) to prevent this illness?
At the storage level, there are many ways of preventing illness. The victims would have thawed high-risk foods like the chicken in the refrigerator which should be under some cold running water or a clean microwave. The food needed to cook the food immediately after thawing. Additionally, the meal would have been marinated in the refrigerator. Nevertheless, the victims would have used a fresh paper towel or a clean hand towel to dry their hands after they had fun. Cleaning their hands would have reduced the risks of their infections. Secondly, they would have cleaned the food preservation surfaces by the use of hot soapy water. The victims should also have avoided eating some foods on the streets without being sure of their of the hygiene of the preparation process.

Smoking interferes with the breathing system through blocking the trachea by the smoke thus inhibiting the flow of blood in the heart. The person should also improve cholesterol levels by feeding on low-level sugar foods. The victims need to eat foods that are not sugary, saturated fats and use more fibers. Controlling the blood pressure by exercising healthy eating though eating more vitamins and doing more exercise are the best practices to be done by Jacob to manage the CVD. Doing some exercises helps to improve the flow of blood in the brain and heart thus enhancing refreshing the body.
