1). Search the online database for a research study of interest. Describe the data collection method(s). Was the data collection method appropriate to test the research hypotheses or answer the research question? Explain.
The research study of interest is facilitated nurse medication-related event reporting to improve medication management quality and safety in intensive care units. The data collection method that was used in this research study is observation. The observation process that was used in the research study included measurement of each and every nurse or any other medical practitioner moment to moment activities together with the required self-report and the negative working mood (Zolkefli, 2018). The observation processed used then obtained the required information and data from all the nurses who later analyzed and the records documented for future references (Zolkefli, 2018).
The data collection method that was applied as appropriate for the test research hypothesis and it answered the research question in a very detailed manner. The main goal of the study was to explore and to research the degree of utility of the nurse medication-related events more so in identifying the system deficiencies and enquiry of the relationship between the medication-related event and the nurses' works within the intensive care unit (Zolkefli, 2018). This was achieved due to the fact that the research study finds out that the complexity that was found out within the intensive care unit was as a result of the high rate of nursing workload and this led to the errors that were observed within the nursing operation.
2). Define your population and discuss the sampling method you feel would best represent the population. What sample size do you feel would be most useful to generalize your data back to the population?
The population sampling is mainly taken or is the process of taking a subset of the required subject which is majorly a representative of the whole population (Watson, 2006). The sample population must have the required condition to give room for statistical analysis. The sampling method that was highly preferred to analyze this particular population was the probability sampling. The probability sampling method is more preferable in that all the all the individual population within the statistical analysis has equal chances of being taken for analysis and this has enabled it to give out more accurate information (Watson, 2006). The method as the same time gives out a guarantee that the selection for analysis is perfectly random and that there are no biases in carrying out the research analysis. The best sample size that was preferred for the analysis of the student was a group of a group of 50 students because it would have given room for elaborate analysis and better result.
3). Review the various research methods. Describe one research method or design you would be interested in performing. Search for electronic tools that would assist you with data collection, analysis and/or reporting, for your chosen method or design. Describe the tool, its value, and how to access the tool.
The best research method that I would be interested in performing is the observation method. The main tools that were used in the observation process include the result based accountability system that was used to primarily research and analyze the research topics and hypothesis (Watson, 2006). The research value of the tool was considered good in that it gives room for proper analysis of the research topic and it was really accessible according to the data given. Therefore it really makes the research to be simpler and faster and at the sometimes providing quality output of the analyzed data.
Another key advantage and reason why I settled in observation as the best data analysis method for this particular research are that you can actually observe what people do practically or say rather than just arguing in what people tell you they do. Observation method tends to be more practical due to the fact that the observer has the ability to do proper research ability on the context and also use the same to find the actual meaning of what people say that they do which is very significant. The other main reason for the application of the system was because it can have access to the situation and people where other forms of data collection methods cannot be used. The research done through observation is always strong on its validity and also in the in-depth understanding of the same.
4). Search the online library for a research study of interest. Describe the findings and discuss the statistical significance. Are these findings also clinically significant? Explain.
The research study of interest is the comparison of commodity measures and fatigue post in myocardial infarction. The findings of the research illustrate that: the mean age of the entire individual participant that take part in the competition was 76 and most of the sample that was used was white 84%. The research found out that there were neither medication validated commodities nor were there any medication that was having fatigue as the main side effect. When trying to control for the age, sex and the marital status, the research conducted gives out illustration that self-reported co-morbidities explained 10% of the general variance in fatigue.
The statistical data generated from this research study helps to analyze and know the clinical requirement for the patient and thus it stands out to play a very significant role within the clinical system. This is because co-morbidities are highly associated with fatigue which is a point of medical and clinical interest. The research that was carried on the same can assist the nurses or the clinical officers in understanding the diversity of the people in relation to their health issue which will automatically lead to proper service delivery to the patients.
5). Think about one procedure you perform frequently while providing patient care. Describe the procedure and discuss how you know that the procedure is based on scholarly evidence?
The patient care procedure currently performed is the Pharmacists' patient care process. This process is highly applicable to any practical situation where the pharmacist provides the required patient cares or in a case where the patient care needs to be given or carried out by a pharmacist.
How the procedure is based on scholarly evidence
The procedure uses the principle of the pieces of evidence-based practice which is greatly entailed in most of the available scholarly evidence (Hunt, 2002). Within this procedure of patient care provision, the pharmacist assures the general public of collection of the required subjective and objective data and information that is required of the patient so that they beat a position to understand the most relevant medical history of the patient (Hunt, 2002). The information related to this kind of patient care can be obtained through various sources such as the journal articles, the existing patient records, the patient and other associated healthcare practices.
6). you are on the quality improvement committee at your health care facility. The recent data indicates low patient satisfaction with nurse availability. How would you lead the committee in determining the best practice to enhance patient satisfaction in this area?
I will ensure that the committee of quality improvement provides the best patient care practices that will enhance the satisfaction of the patient and I will propose and implement:
Making health care accessibility more convenient
The provision of a good and a positive health care experience and services generally includes more than just high-quality care and the idea of driving the customer's satisfaction. It also entails convenient healthcare services and also the accessibility (Hunt, 2002). Ensuring just a simple healthcare means that you are at a position to overcome any barrier that the patient might face while trying to access that medication that is required. Through the achievement of this, I would have made the services that are offered more efficient to the patients (Hunt, 2002). The accessibility of eth healthcare services their remains to be one of the most important considerations of each and every patient and this improving it will result in better service delivery.
