Introduction

My professional goal is to pursue a bachelor's degree in Nursing to attain my career goal of being a registered nurse. I want to utilize my time and compassion to save people's lives. I have a passion for helping sick people, the elderly, and every other person in need of nursing services. The inborn desire to be a nurse got an extra push from the death of my beloved brother and my husband too. I got more desire to get into the nursing workforce and help those who are fighting for their lives. It will give me more contentment and fulfillment to help save a life, knowing the pain of losing a close relative. Saving life would mean an equal joy to their family. I have always wished I did this to my beloved husband and brother, but I didn't due to insufficient nursing capacity. I, therefore, desire to get a chance to train as a nurse to offer to other people the services I was not able to offer to my relatives.

Getting back to college was a hard thing to comprehend after the death of my husband, bearing in mind am now the only breadwinner. Now that he is dead, I knew that I had to be strong for my children, although I did not make it back to college immediately due to the overwhelming grief that followed the death of my husband. As I sat grieving, I watched the tears of my children and the bills pile up; at first, I felt hopeless, but I knew I had to do something. The desire to go back to school and pursue a career I was passionate about is so strong in me since I did not want to pursue a career only to earn a living but fulfill my passion as well.

I am in dire need of this scholarship as it will help me to overcome the financial struggles that I am in; hence I will attain my goal of being a nurse. Being a nurse, I will be able to save lives, pay for my bills, and provide a better life for my children. Without this scholarship, it would be very hard to pursue my career due to the limited income and struggles in making ends meet. Considering the needs that I have and the passion for nursing, I believe I am the best candidate for the scholarship. Besides, the passion, I also have personal skills that include treating others with respect, sincerity, and integrity. I also have good communication skills that will help me convey information clearly and concisely to my colleagues, patients, and their relatives. Organizational skill is a key skill to me as I observe time-management, which will help me to balance between nursing and family roles. Lastly, I believe my advocacy skills will be useful in nursing since I will be an advocate for my patients when I become a nurse by ensuring they get all the services that they need.

When given a chance to pursue my studies further, I will be cooperative and ready to learn to quench my thirst for attaining nursing skills and practicing. The scholarship will be a great chance to help my nursing dream come true. My living standards will also be raised, my children will get a better life, and I will live a fulfilling life when I touch many lives. Nothing would be as fulfilling as helping save lives; the idea of saving a life gives me a lifetime joy. I am, therefore, looking forward to getting a positive response to make my dream come true.
