Introduction
My interpretation of the language for the National Environmental Policy Act Section 101 is that every Federal Government's agency needs to avoid environmental degradation. According to section 101 of NEPA, the agencies should ensure that there is a healthy and clean environment for the American public. The language used in section 101 of NEPA is a directive given to the agencies through congress.
Various responsibilities which are entitled to the federal government from section 101 of NEPA, the duties are for the creation of a better environment for the people of America. The government is advised to take the mentioned responsibilities with a lot of caution (Anderson, 2013). The government is cautioned to take caution on the components of the natural environment, precisely the profound elements which affect the result of the natural environment to the people.
The government should put into consideration the high population growth. Population growth affects the nature of the environment, primarily by their activities. The higher the population, the higher the cases of a deterioration of the environment. Moreover, the population results in increased instances of epics results in a damaged environment. For example, increased population results to high demand for commodities in their lifestyles which leads to the establishment of industries in the provision and catering of these issues (Anderson, 2013). These causes increased global warming, which results in a deteriorating environment. The government should then take caution in these to reduce such effects of global warming through appropriate ways.
Another issue addressed in section 101, which the federal government is supposed to address is that of having the responsibility in controlling the high-density urbanization effects on the environment (Anderson, 2013). The primary outcome causes the high-density urbanization, which is high population growth. High density in the urban centers results in high garbage disposals. Inappropriate disposal of garbage makes the environment to be in a bad state. Hence, the government should consider this and employ the needed ways to take care of garbage collection and disposal in the urban centers. The federal and state governments, in cooperation with other stakeholders, should work towards the same aim of maintaining a harmonized environment. The authority should take the responsibility of creating dustbins in urban centers for the disposal of wastes around the urban centers to improve the urban centers' environment. This move is one of the reforms and recommendations which the government should employ to see the administration of positive effect in the maintenance of the environment in the major urban center, which are highly dense.
Other issues that need to be addressed include the responsibility to observe and maintain the expansion of industries that create a lot of waste in the environment. The government's responsibility to see proper disposal of the debris from the expanding and upcoming production industries in the United States of America to improve, maintain, and improve the status of the surrounding (Benson & Garmestani, 2011). The federal government should embark on giving the appropriate assistance in terms of funding and civic education in the maintenance and improvement of the status of the environment, via the cooperation with the local and state governments and other stakeholders concerned on the issue of providing an appropriate setting for the future and present generations of America.
Conclusion
In summary, the concerned organizations together with both the state and federal governments should be ready to embrace the advanced technology in cleaning up the environment. They should also come with policies to ensure that the status of the environment is maintained to the required condition. Therefore, in order to head to the language in section 101 of NEPA the directives should be observed.
