Native Americans highly experience lifestyle changes that trigger the rise of diseases such as diabetes and other chronic issues (Findling et al., 2019). As a way of reducing issues, a dietitian is one of the interdisciplinary health professionals that the government should include in the health promotion of Native Americans. Normally, dietitians are professionals who advise individuals on the best practice decisions related to food and nutrition (Bednarczuk & Czekajlo-Kozlowska, 2019). As such, the professional is required to teach and inform the public on the best type of food they are required to integrate into their program to promote better health. Additionally, the government should deploy an occupational therapist who assists individuals in overcoming numerous life issues (Turcotte et al., 2019). As such, occupational therapists help people in overcoming challenges that hinder them from engaging in their daily activities.

The involvement of dietitians in health promotion is significant as they will assist the community in understanding the kind of food they are required to consume to reduce exposure to issues such as diabetes (Bednarczuk & Czekajlo-Kozlowska, 2019). Therefore, participating in the programs will assist Native Americans in understanding the kind of food products they are supposed to engage in their dietary plan to reduce aspects such as fat accumulation in the body, which increases the chances of contracting diabetes (Bednarczuk & Czekajlo-Kozlowska, 2019). Additionally, the introduction of dietitians in the promotion of health will assist in the application of evidence-based dietary advice to the community while considering aspects such as medication and nutritional status (Bednarczuk & Czekajlo-Kozlowska, 2019). Involving occupational therapist in the health promotion may assist Native Americans in understanding how to overcome barriers that they experience, which hinder their ability to conduct daily activities (Findling et al., 2019). The approach will assist in overcoming issues such as stress, thus promoting health among the affected individuals (Turcotte et al., 2019).
