The theorist was writing to give an explanation of how gender inequality is prevailing in the society and the factors that lead to such issues arising. The theorist was stating that the chores assigned to women in the house lead to men realizing more output in comparison to women leading to gender inequality. The issue makes women be economically dependent on men for the labor division does not favor them. The socialization process that exists in society leads to women experiencing inequality. Socially, women are regarded as inferior, and they are supposed to undertake the household responsibilities and let the man undertake most of the activities involving finances. According to the theorist, the economic and financial position for a man is supposed to be stronger than that of their female counterparts, and this tends to lead to the inequality experienced in society. The cultural phenomenon tends to play a role based on the details given in this theory on the way that men and women are supposed to handle the various responsibilities in society or the family. Much of the financial issues are supposed to be settled by men while women may be left to manage the small expenses or they may entirely depend on their male counterparts.
What the theorist is trying to explain is that the economic dependence that is depicted by women in the society is mainly due to the way that responsibilities are broken down in the society. The fact that the genders have biological differences and principles helps to explain the reason why they do not act similarly regarding their behavior at the place of work. Women are regarded as being nonaggressive, and this is why their financial position is low for the do not take risks like men or they are not determined to be successful like their male counterparts. Hormones may play a role in this issue though it does not happen in all the cases for some women are highly aggrieve and willing to go to any length to be successful. The contemporary sociological theory handles the issue of racism and the way certain sections of the society feel that they are superior to others though this is a fallacy, it is an error in thinking. Women should not be regarded as being weak financially for it happens that their income is low for they engage in unpaid work at home while men are at their workstations. The system tends to strip them their freedom and their status in the society is gained through men and not the work that they are undertaking. It is often stated that the work that is done by women has no value and it is the man who gains value from the jobs that are completed by women. The key quotes are "Women economically dependent on husband's status & wage," and it is stated that women's value is "determined by his status and earnings."
Conclusion
The limitations of the work and the details given in this theory are the lack of data and facts to support the assertions given. It is often argued that women are performing poorly financially in comparison to their male counterparts, but this is just a hypothesis. In this analysis, no details or data was given to support these statements. The existing theory can be improved by widening the scope of the study and increases the data volume to support further the information that is being given in this theory. However, the argument can compare to the present world where men have been found to have a high level of learning in comparison to their female colleagues. At the workplace, the high positions are held by men an indication that they are the ones that earn better salaries.
