MSc Social and Public Communication: Personal Statement

Introduction

Due to my excellent communication skills, I chose to pursue a degree in Social and Public Communication. Having performed exemplary well in my undergraduate studies, I thought it would be best to enroll for a master's degree in the same course since I am very passionate about it. I have worked in several firms before and I discovered that sometimes, companies are unable to control customer behavior. My motivation for taking the program is to assist different firms to grow by bringing in clients through thorough and professional advertising. I have some work experience since I work in the advertising industry as a bilingual copywriter, and I have been doing the job for three years now. My job entails writing advertising promotion materials like billboards, brochures, emails, catalogues, and advertisements to mention a few (De Mooij, 2018). I must be creative and enticing to get more clients in different industries. In those three years, with no doubt, the Saudi market has an opportunity to grow. My greatest dream is to create powerful campaigns that will push the consumers' behavior in the direction economics want.

I have a firm background in the Public and Social Communication field of study. I pursued a degree program in the course and managed to get first class honors. While at school, I took a major in advertising creative design. I am also experienced since I had the opportunity to work with renowned advertising firms such as Ogilvy & Mather, and DDD too. Currently, I am working as a bilingual copywriter in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I create fresh content for marketing and creative, descriptive texts with the aim of significantly influencing consumers, and as a result, the economy in Saudi Arabia has grown. In the past, I also worked on global clients like Castrol oil, IKEA, Bupa, and Kimberly Clark and I am sure they appreciate my work.

My greatest ambition in the marketing industry is to conduct insightful campaigns and messages to consumers not only in Saudi Arabia but also internationally. Currently, I am doing a lot of reading and research to get more knowledge of how I may improve on my advertising and communication skills and get clients to be interested. It is essential to know that advertisement plays a significant role in marketing, and if the former is done correctly and professionally, excellent results are obtained (De Mooij, 2018). Enrolling in a master's degree in social and public communication will give me more insight into the field, and I will achieve my inspirations. I also plan on establishing my advertisement firm after I complete the program since I have all that it takes in advertising through creative design.

Conclusion

My particular field of study is in communication, and in the past, I have been regarded as a social and influential person to the public. I can quickly get people to listen to me even when they are busy. In this field, excellent communication skills are crucial since one needs to convince a client to purchase or consider certain products. With my influential ability, I can effectively communicate with colleagues, staff, and superior people in different sectors without fear or intimidation. Creativity is also crucial since a client must be convinced to purchase a particular product or service (De Mooij, 2018). Since I have worked with some of the most successful advertising firms in the world, I do not doubt that I will realize my aspirations in the coming years.
