Introduction
Sex has been purported to be a way of showing love and given to individuals by God. It should be done between a husband and wife. Also, there is the belief that the Bible does not provide a chance for ambiguity or confusion concerning homosexuality. God loves everyone unconditionally, as they have all been created with profound dignity and worth. Marriage in the Christian perspective is viewed as an institution between a man and a woman, thus showing that there is no scope for homosexual behavior.
All types of sexual promiscuity have been prohibited in the Bible, including homosexual and heterosexual. Various methods have been developed to justify homosexual behavior, but God's clarity on sexual promiscuity is quite clear. Rational uniformity has demanded that people and even groups who want to reinterpret the Scripture to authorize free sexual manifestation among homosexuals should outspread the equivalent allowance to heterosexual singles (Minton et al., 2017). However, this cannot modify the fact that there is no scriptural sustenance for the endorsement of sexual wickedness for any people regardless of their personal sexual feelings.
On the other hand, there is no place for same-sex marriage. It does not have a place within the framework of a Christian worldview. The Bible depicts that by explanation, marriage is heterosexual. Also, when Jesus was articulating his comprehension of the scriptural groundwork for the heavenly determination and strategy in marriage, He referred to its backgrounds based on justification of the Creation (Priest, 2018). According to the scripture "But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female, For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; and they twain shall be one flesh; so then they are no more twain, but one flesh" (Mark 10:6-8, King James Version). Based on this Scripture, it is evident that marriage should occur between man and woman and not people of the same sex.
Moreover, homosexuality has been condemned in the Old and New Testament. God made male and female to procreate and complete each other. In case the couple is incapable of having children, then the sexual union is tentatively open to the production of children (Priest, 2018). The scriptures say, "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be out to death" (Leviticus 20:13, King James Version). Similarly, in some letters of St. Paul in the Bible, he denounces homosexuality as being 'unrighteous.' Further, he depicts that men who engage in the act will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Marriage is observed to be a social covenant in the contemporary world that can be terminated by the partners. When it is not satisfactory to both parties, then they can discuss divorce (Minton et al., 2017). By distinction, the Bible depicts that marriage and the family are not human agreements at the root. Furthermore, they are not based simply on a provisional agreement and time-honored convention. The Bible instead teaches that family was an idea from God, and marriage is celestial. Its divinity further stems from it being between a man and woman and not people of the same sex (Priest, 2018).
It has further been observed that marriage is the most cherished of all human interactions and unites a man and woman in a union referred to as "one flesh." The Scripture clearly outlines that man and woman become united as one flesh (Genesis 2:23-25, King James Version). Furthermore, there is also the aspect of the superiority of marriage. Marriage is not only consecrated and joint. It is also a particular denotation that no other human bond should obstruct with the obligation of marriage between husband and wife (Priest, 2018). As such, this led Jesus to treat the sexual wickedness of a married person, and this includes lustful contemplations of even a husband with extreme importance.
Marriage and the family are also affected by homosexuality, which is viewed as falling away from the creation purposes of God. It is a violation of the heavenly will for marriage to be between one man and one woman. The concept of a man leaving his father and mother and uniting with the wife has been described in Genesis (Minton et al., 2017). As such, heterosexuality is the solitary potential organization for marriage since God, the Creator, instructed. He further anticipates married couples to be "fruitful, multiply and fill the earth" (Genesis 1:28, King James Version). Thus, homosexuality involves intercourse between the same-sex and cannot lead to reproduction. It is also abnormal and cannot rationally involve marriage prospects (Minton et al., 2017).
It is, however, necessary to note that not everyone has a similar viewpoint about marriage and homosexuality. Within the ranks of admitting Christians, some do not believe in the Word of God and that it was created to support heterosexual marriage as the only authentic background for sexual expression. They thus opt to view people as being more than their sexuality. Those who argue in this context demonstrate that an individuals' integral and undisputable worth is embedded in their membership in humanity, not the sexual aspect (Priest, 2018).
Sexual promiscuity of all kinds has been prohibited in the Bible, inclusive of homosexuality and heterosexuality, according to the exploration conducted. The clarity of God on sexual promiscuity is clear. Same-sex marriage does not also have a place in the Christian worldview since the Bible demonstrates that marriage is heterosexual by definition. The condemnation of homosexuality has further been undertaken in the Old and New Testament. Also, marriage has been observed to be the most intimate of all human affiliations and unites a man and woman as "one flesh." As such, homosexuality cannot rationally entail the prospect of marriage.
