Introduction

The documentary, League of Denial, by Frontline, highlights a traumatic brain injury in the National Football League (NFL) among players. In particular, the movie illustrates that concussions and chronic traumatic encephalopathy are key problems that many players experience. The main character of the documentary, Mike Webster, is a heroic figure in society. At the age of 50, Webster dies after suffering from enduring dementia, homelessness, and other psychological issues. It is believed that high pleasure in the NFL has been a key factor that has increased the rate of traumatic brain injury (Wiley, 2013). The action is supported when Omalu briefly illustrates a discussion with an NFL doctor, who was reviewing Webster's issue. Through the movie, the director tries to influence people to understand and change their perception of the country. The director brings out a group of people who lives in the isolated mountainous regions of the country, where they do not understand anything related to fun (Olivier, 2019). After a long period, the country has already adopted new approaches, whereby they are celebrating, singing, and engaging in other fun activities.

Based on the theme of the movie, the director tries to give people an insight into life in North Korea. Through the insight, people gain an understanding of the impoverished and isolated the country has been. As such, it has survived a critical period of dictatorship, and famines, where a large number of people have lost their life (Olivier, 2019). Later on, the government establishes various playgrounds, where people visit and have fun. As such, the credibility connection between real life and the story in the movie makes the documentary to be interesting. As such, learners will gain more information about the dictatorial leadership that hindered freedom in the country.
