Moon landing conspiracy theories argue that some of the elements, if not some all of the Apollo project and some of the associated with the moon landings were just a hoax which was arranged by NASA through the help of other corporations. Most of the famous argument is that the six crewed landings of the year 1969 and that of 1972 were faked, and the 12 Apollo astronauts did not land or walk on the moon literally (Crouch, 1180). Most of the individuals and other private groups have made arguments that from the launch of the moon landing by NASA and other organizations misled the citizens and other countries to believe that the moon landings happened by destroying evidence such as photographs, TV transmissions, and telemetry tapes. However, many facts claim the Apollo 13 moon landing was real. Still, the conspiracists have been able to convince the public otherwise into believing that the moon landing program was a hoax such as the Fox television network documentary theory, which claims that the United States faked the first landing to win the space race. This paper will present the facts that support the Apollo 13 moon landing to be real.

Apollo 11 Success

The Apollo 11 success on landing to the moon is a fact that shows the Apollo 13 was real since, through the first trial, the astronaut managed to get some documents and facts showing their presence in the moon. The country and other scientists believe that the Apollo 13mission is a successful failure since they tried their very best to rescue the lives of the astronauts who were stack in the space, meaning that were it not for the rapture of the service module oxygen tank. Also, the mission spent a lot of time in the upper stage, which successfully impacted the moon because they were waiting for the rescue team, but at the same time, they were exploring the moon from a near distance. Therefore, if the Apollo 11 mission was successful, then 13 also did happen since the technology was advanced, and the astronauts had a lot of previous experience in experimenting because they had been training for years for the mission (Balogh,320).

Space Race Theory

Most of the powerful nations in the world, such as Russia, were competing on how to become superpowers by first landing on the space, and that is why President John Kennedy started the mission for Americans to be the first nation to land on the moon. However, some authors have argued that Apollo 13 did not happen since the accident occurred, and there is no way they would have landed the moon with oxygen tank failures (Halamek, 307). On the contrary, the Apollo 13 might have landed the moon, but due to the accident, this made them lose some of the relevant documents and evidence showing that they were in space. Still, the fact remains they landed the moon before the rapture of the oxygen tank, and that is why there were survivors (Kozlowski, Steve, and Daniel, 56). United States government is recognized as a credible country. It cannot offer false information to the world concerning their mission success, and if the landing were not real, then they would have also deceived about the accident that happened in the way.

Funding and Prestige of NASA

Most of the conspiracies argue that the NASA team decided to lie to the whole world to increase their funding and not to lose their honor and ongoing funding. However, this fact is not actual since NASA had done a previous astronomy mission that was successful and approved by the whole world. There was no need to lie because the United States had many resources and funds to make the mission possible, unlike other governments that did not have enough funds to support their astronomical team. Also, this conspiracy seems to be impossible because of its complexity and size. The intrigue has to involve more than 400,000 people who had been previously engaged in the mission of moon landing since the first stage till the end. Still, instead, it only included a few individuals who were dedicated to killing the American dreams (Logsdon,119). Also, an interview was done with most of the astronauts; their experiences and stories of being in the moon are similar, and it is hard for people to lie about the one thing since they were both rescued and isolated in separate locations. There is no way they could communicate on how to lie to the government.

In conclusion, the Apollo 13 moon landing is accurate according to some of the above arguments and how they point out real facts of what to believe as to be true. The conspiracy theories are there to make money or to convince the public and other interested groups to fight the government of being unreliable of serving the public. Therefore, the Apollo 13 landing was real because the astronauts were able to present the facts and photographs showing their arrival and were rewarded by the president for the achievement.
