Introduction

The information provided in this annotation to a large extent supports the hypothesis or rather the main reason for study in this case about the impacts that domestic violence has on the lives of young children. In the first place, it is clear and evident from the information that a lot of negative effects are imposed on the children of tender age who face domestic violence in various ways. The research and or study about the same has been analyzed in three distinct dimensions which are the age, gender and then lastly chronicity of these children. There are quite a number of domestic violence types which children can be exposed to that end up affecting their lives in the meantime (Moffit, 2013). One of the worst kinds of domestic violence that research has found to affect children more is that which they face from the parents. In relation to the gender, a child who has been for a long time exposed to any kind of domestic violence tends to develop a bad and or negative feeling towards a certain gender whether the male or the female. An example is when in this case a parent like a male parent is the cause of the violence the children face, for the rest of their lives, these children may never feel happy about the males who they come across and this comes out of the feeling and imagination that all the male will end up exposing them to similar situations.

It is the same case as of the study that the children affected by domestic violence tend to develop age-related complications as time goes by. For example, children having suffered violence may seem to dislike in a big way a certain age of people. For instance, they may not even want to associate with certain groups of people in society. This now comes in since the children find themselves feeling that a particular age group is comprised of similar people like the ones who caused them all their pain and suffering. There is yet a last impact that is and has been seen on children who have been exposed to domestic violence. This is chronicity which is defined in psychology as a prolonged condition that is caused by problems in the psychology of young children (Moylan, 2010). The chronicity problem, however, continues to bring with it more and more problems that in the due time affect the mode of behavior in such children. To give an example, from the findings of this study, the behaviors of children who have seen domestic violence in their lives is to a large extent dictated by what they have faced in these situations and the result of the same is always negative.

Future research needs to incorporate in them the necessary steps that need to be taken to make sure that these impacts have been reduced in children. As of now, there are still no exactly known solutions to this big problem that tends to affect children from childhood all through their lifetime. Domestic violence of any kind should be fought against in the society so as to make sure that the children don't get exposed to it thus having their lives affected negatively with time. All the necessary and effective measures that can bring domestic violence to a drastic end should be put in place to have the children on the safe side at all times and bring up a well-nurtured generation.
