The Affordable Healthcare Act was, therefore, a policy which was initiated to assist the citizens in receiving the appropriate healthcare which they needed at an affordable price. The reason for the establishment of the policy was that people's wages remained the same while inflation continues to rise to a point where the minimum wage was not enough. Healthcare became the last option among people's needs. Majority of the American citizens lacked health insurance, and the government took it upon themselves to initiate laws, regulations, and policies which ensure that every American citizen has affordable health insurance. Those who could pay more were provided with the opportunity to pay more, while those who could not, could ultimately pay less.

Health Insurance Market is a platform in which the Affordable Healthcare Act established with an objective of providing coverage strategies to families, persons, and micro-small enterprises. The Affordable Healthcare Act initiated the marketplace to accomplish determined passivity with the obligation that the health of all American citizens is insured (Polsky & Weiner, 2015). It is a critical component of the Affordable Healthcare Act. In the United States, different states have their marketplaces, whereas the federal government administers a program accessible to occupants of other states.

There are also states that have preferred not to launch marketplaces. Such states have amalgamated with the federal exchange. However, the law required every state to set up their exchanges to provide individuals and families with the opportunity to get health insurance coverage without employer-sponsored coverage. The market is significant because it facilitates competition among private insurance companies (Polsky & Weiner, 2015). The policy required that the reserved insurers converge in a common location where the American citizens unable to access employer-sponsored insurance could find coverage that suits their income. However, the policy required such individuals to conform to the directive that all American citizens to carry health insurance. The marketplace is therefore significant because it ensures that every American citizen has access to a health insurance plan.
