Introduction
In the contemporary world, gay rights have been on an increase and persistent over various societies. There have been organized efforts to end the criminalization of homosexuality, protecting the civil rights of homosexuals. However, this is a debatable issue as gay rights movements need to be abandoned. There have been organized activities for the rights of homosexuals from the mid-19th century to date. Areas such as New York City and Columbia have been most affected with authority being even stricter as evident from police raids on illegal gay bars. Such actions need to be critiqued as homosexuals should be accepted as part of the greater population. The anti-sodomy laws covering homosexuals and heterosexuals should even be encouraged to accept consensual homosexual conduct.
There have been laws to protect homosexuals from discrimination, and these should be implemented further, especially at present where gay marriages are on the rise. It should go local to let gays be intimate with one another. The reality is that conservative religious groups have been brainwashed with facts that are not plausible even by science. Most people who oppose such laws believe in things not yet seen or experienced. Opponents of gay-rights measures should not be allowed to gain their repeal by any chance. Some states should consider advising others on acts such as nullification of existing civil rights protection for homosexuals. Nonetheless, constitutional phrases involving homosexuals should not be amended because of the significance of the community in contemporary society.
Gays are living in the contemporary world in fear. Policies such as "don't ask, don't tell" could have been more effective to permit openly homosexual men and women to participate in various societal activities. They are individuals with equal rights to serve in the armed forces. They are individuals that can be considered more professional than others. Some do not get good employment opportunities because they fear to be discharged and get penalties as soon as they are realized to be homosexuals. Sexual orientation is just a biological fact that cannot be incorporated into real-life challenges. It even brings more discrimination that is against the measures to end discrimination in the world.
Gay rights matters have led to an increase in spousal benefits. Could imagine same-sex persons, a man and another man having health insurance as spousal benefits? If you cannot relate the two, then you ought to be classified with the discriminators of even more factors aside from homosexuality. These individuals have equal rights to receive pension plans for their long-term domestic partners. Without this contemporary issue, matters such as the legal recognition of same-sex couples in some parts of the world could not be recognized. The states that ban same-sex marriages do so without further analysis of the situation and the alternatives without causing discrimination implications.
Some areas in the world deny homosexual men and women very important rights, and that seems not an issue to them. However, the broader perspective can outline the issue as a matter of concern for modern society. Many gays cannot access joint tax returns because of their sexual orientation. This is not fair for the individuals as it is someone's wish to marry and chose whom to spend their life with. For as long as more civil unions that cover same-sex couples are started, homosexual rights can be effected, and discriminatory practices upon them can be ceased effectively.
