With over 35 years of experience, he commonly treats a wide range of conditions such as benign polyps of the colon, hemorrhoids, peptic ulcer disease, diverticulosis, and esophagitis. Other conditions treated include acute and chronic pancreatitis, anal fissure, cirrhosis, constipation, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and infectious liver disease. Procedures performed by Dr. Bhat Kiran include upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and hemorrhoid procedures.

What I learned about this place of work is that following the right procedures as given by the doctor is essential for the patient. The cooperation between Dr. Bhat Kiran and the other staff was a critical area for me. I learned that medical practitioners share the goals of patient care and everyone is responsible for a proper therapeutic outcome. Another crucial lesson that I learned is that the medical assistant should carry out procedures in the laboratory based on the laid down regulations and rules as this is significant for safety in the organization and even in future assignments. The internship and the knowledge taught in class share a common ground in medicine. For instance, the externship allowed me to put to use the knowledge I learned in the rigorous classroom training to real situations in the organization. It also allowed me to gain valuable experience in the organization based on the content taught in class.

Through the internship, I was able to hone my skills in medical care that directly impacted on the development of my career in medical assistance. I was able to acquire skills and confidence that are basic in performing clinically in the doctor's office. Furthermore, I learned how to handle the administrative roles given by the doctor especially in phlebotomy and assist in patient care by performing appropriate medical procedures and obtaining blood samples from the patients in the laboratory. The externship gave me an opportunity to expose myself to procedures performed in gastroenterology as I observed and worked with different patients who came with varied medical conditions. Additionally, as a shadow to a senior medical assistant during the initial days of the externship, I took a few days to orient myself with office procedures and policy. I was able to perform these tasks individually which boosted my confidence in medical assistance.

Overall, my days at the Comprehensive Digestive and Liver Care went quickly. I found the experience in the organization worthwhile because this organization provided an excellent learning environment and would recommend it for prospects in medical assistance. The most significant experience was working with the doctors in patient care because it is vital for medical assistants to acquire a better comprehension of inpatient care. I liked the place very much because of its perfect organization and cleanliness. The people I worked with are patient with everyone and cooperated in their work. The experience that Dr. Bhat Kiran has coupled with his kindness made him an outstanding person to work with. I feel privileged to have this pleasant experience, and I am appreciative for learning medical assistance under great physicians. The new expertise and practices I have gained in this organization are invaluable and will impact positively in my career.
