Hospitality Market in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia has over the recent years received a large growth rate which is at its highest international levels. The country economic growth has resulted in the growth of other sectors such as hospitality and accommodation which has specifically seen increasing importance. This is mainly due to the growth of the tourism sector which has over the past few years experienced steady growth. Tourists and travelers from different parts of the world have visited the country either for business or recreational purposes. The Saudi government has recently estimated that the hospitality and accommodation sector in the kingdom is expected to reach an approximate of $144 billion within the next five years (Sadi & Henderson 2005). This shows that there is an increased need for Saudi society for hotels in general. The kingdom has experienced an influx in the economy. This has called for the increased establishment of infrastructure to meet the increased needs. The hospitality sector, as a result, experienced increased growth with a local and international chain of hotels investing in the industry (Sadi & Henderson 2005). The capital city of the kingdom, i.e., Riyadh has the highest number of hotels. This is so it is the largest city not only in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia but also in the entire region. The city, therefore, enjoys a wide number of visitors who come for business or leisure reasons.
