Introduction

Partner Abuse is evident in the case scenario where a woman called the police for help on her husband. Upon police arrival, the woman appeared traumatized as she covered her face, screaming and badly bruised. The woman had blood running from her face, a good indicator she was bodily harmed by the attacker who, in this case, is the husband (Meyer, 1989). At first, when the police arrived, she was confused and shocked, which was a red flag. She was scared of any person who came near to offer help, even the police, a good indicator of fear due to extreme abuse. The violent action against the woman from her home is a red flag and a good example of existing cases of Partner Abuse in home settings.

Partner Abuse is common in homes, and neighborhoods, among other areas, to prevent the Partner Abuse cases; different policies and measures can be adopted. A useful action would be educating the community on the signs, causes, and effects of Partner Abuse. Sensitization of the community creates a conversation discouraging Partner Abuse and, at the same time, enlightens men and women on places, and channels to use and report their cases before the problem escalates. Men and women are also encouraged to seek counseling, among other mediation methods, during disagreements to prevent abuse cases (Crowther-Dowey et al., 2016). If the community is not educated, men and women continue to face violence, among other forms of abuse, in silence. Unreported cases result in more damaging problems such as abuse until death, victims may incur disability, or else victims may face mental issues.

Child Abuse

Children are vulnerable, and often they are likely to be subjected to child abuse. In Max Mayer’s, story "The Massacre”, two girls of tender age were found lying on the ground with bullet wounds on their chest. The children were lying helpless, crying, and in shock, when the police offices on call arrived (Meyer, 1989). The shock on their face as they cried helplessly is a red flag, while the gunshot wounds are indictors of extreme abuse. This parent had been violating these children at home to an extent he pulled a gun on his children, which is child abuse.

Children need protection at home and in society by parents and the government. To prevent child abuse cases, the government should launch vigilant children's protection services to track cases of child abuse at any level, be it home, neighborhoods, or school. In the process, the parents and the community should be educated on the importance of good parenting and the importance of reasonable punishment, minimizing cases of extreme corporal punishment (Crowther-Dowey et al., 2016). Educating the parent and community on the effects of child abuse through harsh punishment helps parents the detrimental impact some of the punishment methods could have on children. At the same time, it helps the people in the community know signs of abusive parents to children and report to relevant authority calling for the children's follow up, which prevents chances of child abuse. In case such measures of educating and creating child protection services by the government are not launched, parents are likely to continue abusing children without care. More children are likely to be reported dead, missing, and even report increased truancy cases and drug abuse.

Adult Abuse

Adult abuse is between an older person and a younger person, often relatives, and usually occurs within homesteads. The story 'The Massacre' by Max Meyer highlights a case of a woman reported dead. Before the woman died, she had reported her life was in danger to a police station. The women visited the police department desk in the afternoon to report a disagreement, and due to fear, she requested an escorted home (Meyer, 1989). The reason she visited a police department to report a dispute was a red flag. The woman was in fear of her life, and the only help she could get was from the law. An indicator of abuse was when she requested an escort home, and sign her abuser was life-threatening.

To prevent elderly abuse, children and young adults need to be advised on the importance of school and career life; hence, they find themselves engaged in education rather than indulging in drugs, which impair judgment and abuse parents and the elderly. Single parents and young parents are the most abused by their drug-addicted children, mostly men. Parents should also be taught on proper ways to bring up children instill the right morals and manage children's anger and stress (Crowther-Dowey et al., 2016). Such measures help reduce the chances of abuse by young adults and children towards the elderly. Implementing this education program will help mothers better raise their children. Children are advised on the importance of education and the need to avoid drugs, which leads them to be responsible adults rather than violent abusers. Failure to implement these educational measures may result in increased cases of drug abuse, school dropouts, and mental health issues due to frustration, which results in violence and often against the elderly as they try to extort money or project their failures in life.
