The student government befits the definition of an organization about the textbook definition. One of the reasons why it befits the meaning is that the organization exhibited independence. In my high school student government, no member could function without affecting or was affected by other organizational members. The four essential features of the definition identified include differentiation of tasks and functions, interdependence, control, and goal orientation. Since the school government functions independently, are composed of various individuals with laid down duties and responsibilities in the school constitution. Every member of the student government appropriately performed their role. As the deputy head boy of student government, I had the responsibility of making sure that the students adhered to the rules and regulations of the institution. I also reported any case of misconduct to the relevant authority, which in this case was the school administration. However, the school government attempted to solve some of the issues of misconduct before they were reported to the administration. The student government only reported issues that were out of hand, and they could not solve. I also managed a lot of students on a regular basis and also worked in coordination especially during big festivities and big events. The student government was interdependent and had its powers. It, therefore, performed its functions within its jurisdiction. The communication wing of the student government also conducted corporate social responsibility where the organization organized social events that benefitted the community. The student government had its communication process.

Conclusion

From the preceding, it is evident that communication plays an essential role in the maintenance, identity, and existence of the student government as an organization: Communication-Enabled the student leaders to actively promote the student participation in, and understanding of the student governance. Communication-enabled the student organization to develop, coordinate and maintain the student governance by communicating the essential items from the school administration to the students. Communication also facilitated the decision-making process and also helped in the identification of an alternative course of action (Lewis, 2019). The student government was also able to build the attitude of other students through communication. Genkova and Gehr (2016) explain that the principle of communication states that a well-informed individual has a better perspective as compared to a less informed person. The student government printed its periodical school magazine which helped the students develop attitudes. It is among the primary features of administration which was instrumental in raising the morale of the students and the administration. Both verbal and non-verbal communication enables people to submit different feedback and requirements to the administration.
