Introduction
The group decided on organizing an entertainment event where there would be a lot of music for the audience to enjoy. We were then tasked with developing a comprehensive marketing strategy to communicate all relevant information to our target audience. Target is to increase the extent of relaying knowledge of the occurrence of the event to a broader range of potential attendees (Skiera el al., 2017). More attendance would mean the selling of more tickets, thus offering more financial capabilities to handling all expenses incurred to actualizing the success of the event. It was the purpose of establishing the need to develop a marketing strategy specific to the type of event that we are planning to hold.
Discussion
According to Skiera et al., (2017), in developing this market strategy, priority was to derive effectiveness from the same. That is, the marketing strategy should be able to assure the promotion of the event successfully. It is by ensuring that the deduced details to the event availed to an established target audience. The main 'P' that applies to the development of an effective marketing strategy is that of prices. Price considered as the most relevant 'P' found in the development of this market strategy. Priority is to develop the most reasonable prices to our tickets in comparison with other relatively similar events previously held or which would be held at the same time around the selected location to hold the event. Research is also done on prices that night clubs located in the same vicinity to the location of the event. Determinations and a decision arrived at charging fifteen dollars per ticket for the event. It was after establishments of the current and previous pricing approaches to related activities.
Concentration also allocated to the calculated total of all expenses to be incurred during the event. Payment of staff and entertainers contracted to make the event a success. Salaries of staff related to the role they then tasked with playing during the event. The price seemed friendly to potential individuals that were likely to attend the event. The expected target audience is two hundred and individuals. Post determination of such specifics, it is then relevant to develop a suitable marketing strategy that would assure the availability of enough attendants to ensure the actualization of all event preparation and actualizing processes.
Marketing Strategy
In the pre-event period, all group members unanimously decided on utilizing social media to market the event. Target to actively engage potential attendees to developments on the organization of the event a while before the precise day of the occurrence. It is considering the continued observed trend in most of the youths owning a smartphone (Sorescu et al., 2017). With the continued desire to be noticeable figures in most popular social media platforms. Such assures their frequent interactions with various information presented via such platforms. Utilizing such platforms to market the event enables hype to the potential awesomeness experienced with its attendance. Considering that once details of the event posted, they are publicly accessed by all individuals within our given social cycle (Skiera el al., 2017). It is consuming minimal time to uploading the specifics to the organized event. Stating all vital details in the post, essentially location of the event, the price per ticket, price of drinks, and the forms of entertainment then planned for the given day. The task is, therefore, establishing the types of posts that interested individuals in the kind of event organized prefer interacting.
Brands have shown to derive more engagement with their target market via this platform. Twitter involves the usage of posts and the feature to utilizing hashtags to enable conversations and development of senses of excitement to the promise that our event possesses to ensuring optimum enjoyment derived by all that would attend. Using twitter entails being with knowledge of how to develop a hashtag to be specific to engage the audience on all advancements to the actualization of the project. There exists a choice of utilizing one of these platforms considering the deduced levels if effectiveness expected to promote the event. There exists the option of using all established social media platforms relevant to the task we desire to allocate to it. It was the agreed option considering the extent to which desired information of the event would be able to reach a broad set of our audience - considering the various choices and preferences to be active on a specific social media platform by target audiences.
The second step would then be the decision to the most favourable hashtag specific to our event. The hashtag is supposed to be short to reduce ambiguity to all readers interacting with it. It should be unique to be identified and allocate attention only to our event. It should not be ambiguous to offer an easy understanding of the information related to potential attendees to the event. There exists a need for consistency in engaging the public and concentration of specific concepts established to all activities expected at the event. Every post update should be in the inclusion of the developed hashtag specific to our event. Every individual group member should also include this hashtag to their social media account profiles. The hashtag would still be relevant also during the event and clearly outlined to ease its use by all in attendance (Sorescu et al., 2017). We are planning to utilize the television screens at the event to advertise our developed hashtag. Involve persons in the sharing of this hashtag via their social media platforms. There exist strategies like the creation of a photo booth promising prize to winners courtesy of the hashtag. Such an occasion, however, should allocate attention to the legalities involved in initiating any competitive process. That would need seeking advice from a lawyer before commencing such operations.
The third step is for individual group members to improve on their social profiles. In cases of previously established pages, they would equally require updates to include the details of our event. It is offering comprehensive descriptions of the specifics of the event in an understandable format to any new individuals that interact with it. The fourth step will involve ticket sales promotion through the established social media event page. It still considering that there are a lot of users to the selected social media platform. Facebook, in itself, has approximately five hundred million users (Sorescu et al., 2017). Around forty-seven million public events then created on Facebook on an annual basis. The primary task arising from this fact is the development of a Facebook event that is more appealing to users. Superiority over other event posts to assure preference to interact with our posts, thus increasing the scope to which information of the event is available. Making your event be outstanding involves the development of the social media page in properties and specifics. The cover photo should possess details that enable it to retain good looks regardless of the size. A 19201080 photo has proved to be the most relevant. Facebook has established properties that allow its frameworks in aiding advertisement of one's page (Sorescu et al., 2017). Such would, however, only be possible with the number of details presented with the creation of the page. Location of the event, the time to which the event would start, and the specific category to which the event is part. The task will be to compose a comprehensive description of the event with a link that enables interested persons to purchase the event tickets online.
Human Resource Segment
The human resource management team is crucial for any successful event. The establishment of this department is to identify all staff required to assuring efficiency to all event operations. In the case of our entertainment event, it determined the need to acquire services of waiters and waitresses, catering personnel, security officers, and that of an entertainer, in this case, a disk jockey (Skiera el al., 2017). Budgeting of this HR team is necessary with the need to establish the number of employees needed to ensure fluency in all operations. Such establishments enable the determination of a total of financial resources needed to acquire the services of all employees deduced to be necessary to the event. It, in turn, allows the determination of the capabilities to pay all employees from the amount of income realized from projections of ticket sales (Sorescu et al., 2017). Such a concept is of consideration in the calculations of rational ticket prices. As total revenue from ticket sales should be able to cater for all expenses projected to be incurred and still assure desired levels of profitability. The role of the HR department again playing a vital role also during and after the event.
Waiters and waitresses needed for the event with the duties allocated to them. The skills that are required to be accepted to work at the event for waiters are a number. They should be of a good personality with motivation and enthusiasm to perform all related tasks allocated to them. Previous experience considered with references on similar roles they occupied with performance prioritized. Such persons expected to be good at service delivery and ethical team players to coordinate with fellow waiters in assuring all guests well served (Sorescu et al., 2017). They should be fast learners and be easily adaptable to the environment offered at the event. It is with varying expectations and preferences of the guests who also possess varying opinions on the quality of services desired. Their communication skills should be perfect and understandable of maintaining set levels of etiquette. They must be well knowledgeable about food and wine. The guest is always the boss, and as such, a good waiter must adhere to that. Attention is on-demand for efficiency with results to pressure while at work, and they should be able to handle such. They should also be flexible to any changes in work allocated to them considering changes in shifts. High levels of presentation are expected, with professionalism also considered. The role of waiters and waitresses would be ensuring efficiency to their services as per guests' needs. They are to ensure all furniture is well organized and sufficient to accommodate the established number of attendances to the event. They are to welcome guests and guarantee to respond to requests made on all their orders. They then have to ensure cleaning of the host premises.
Catering services also needed for the event with importance allocated to the quality of food available to our attendees. Skills required are knowledge of a wide range of foods considered (Sorescu et al., 2017). Certification is a crucial requirement with the ability to prepare excellent cuisines as per the request of an attendee. The taste of food a priority and attention also on the presentation of the prepared foods. The role is to handle all catering processes with professionalism, considering the differences in preferences by guests on the kind of food they find interesting. It is while still assuring on the quality of the food. Majorly they need to ensure a wide range of options on the menu to attendees.
