Every individual has his or her traits and habits that make him or her special or unusual person. Since my childhood, I have been able to interact with different kinds of people. People who have either build me or tried to take me down. Every individual has such experience with people who can help in their growth or their downfall. The special people, in some cases they become heroes. One of the special persons I have the privilege to have in my life is my mother, Florence. Parents are essential people in determining how their children will grow and path the child will take. My mother has been a crucial part of my family as she instilled some of the best disciplines and character in our life. He taught us the necessary lessons in life, such as how to say sorry and to interact with other people.
However, the reason why my mother is my special person is not that she brought up as well, but she has been by my fathers' side since he was diagnosed with cancer. It is common knowledge that you get to know your friend when such instances happen. My father had served in the army for the between 1992 and 2008. He was deployed across the world in several stations, such as Afghanistan, Iraq, and Africa. I can call him a fighter to survive in such areas as difficult due to the climate and enemies from each side. Having served in the army, he reigned in 2008 after being diagnosed with cancer. Although the government provided some financial support, this cannot come close to the support that my father had from his wife for the last ten years. Every patient needs help from his or her family to fight the condition form, which he or she is suffering from. I can say that my mother has not been a religious person, but she never criticized any faith. Regardless of the problems or complications that came her way, she always had a positive outlook on the issue. The sickness of our way father might have been diverting to the family, but she had that positive face that this would be well soon.
I felt that the relationship between my mother and father was more robust as she stood by him until the end. While battling cancer, my mother has been his soul caregiver until his demise in 2017. This was the most devastating event in the family, but my mother was always thankful for the time she able to spend with her husband. The best aspect she said was that her husband did not let the condition take over him but rose above to the fighting spirit. This gave my mother a motivation to continue caring for her husband. I admired my mother for the devotion and love she showed towards my mother during the awkward moments. The fight lasted for almost ten years, and the doctors and my mother helped him along the way holding back the condition through chemo, radiation, and multiple surgeries. The strength and devotion of my mother have made me believe that marriage is a good institution when the parents respect each other, and they instill good behaviors with their children. The children will grow up respecting their spouse and making their love for the family, and their wives and husbands grow stronger regardless of the trials and turbulence that come along the way. The support that my mother gave my father was tremendous, and it showed the importance of having a good relationship with your significant other. This is because, according to the marriage vows, you are supposed to stick together for better or for worse, through sickness and in happiness, and in all trials and tabulations.
People should respect the marriage institution as it is the institution that most children learn how to interact with other people, instill good behaviors to the children, and the children will learn how well they can treat their spouses. In the current structure of the nuclear family, parents need to be careful about how they interact with their children and the behaviors they instill. My mother and father were close regardless of the hardship. They showed me and my younger brothers and sisters how to deal with certain aspects and problems in life. Is she had not been good and supporting to my father during his worst moment, she would not have become my special person? It is the character and behavior in a person during the worst moments that will determine if an individual is right or not. Furthermore, parents need to be adequate on the teachings they instill on their children as they will determine the future and their relations. My mother would always my special person for the care she gave to my father till her demise.
