Introduction

Perception is the process by which you are selecting, organizes, analyze and interpret the information before an individual speaks it out. Before you pass out specific information you must choose the information to pass out regarding the stimuli, the situation, and maybe who's the information is going to. Then after selecting the information, you organize the information into a logical order and pattern to pass and analyze the habit of giving the information and interpret if it is the correct information to be passed out and if it is in the right manner (Broadbent, 2013).

This perception is usually affected by several factors such as gender, race, ethnicity, family practices, and other factors during communication while solving the conflicts and, making a decision. To resolve a dispute with a gender-based system you have to understand the role of the gender in the conflict resolution to choose the information to in solving the conflict. Race and ethnicity will affect the way I will be organizing and analyzing the knowledge to use while I am communicating my perception when dealing with people of the same race and ethnic group is not the same as the way I will be dealing with different ethnicity.

Family practices and norms also affect the way I am communicating and making a decision. Some of the family norms sometimes have some restriction on how you are interacting with other people, and even some practices limit someone when making decisions. Thus your perceptions when making decisions, communicating, and solving conflicts varies depending on which gender, race, ethnicity you are dealing with what information should use with them. Family norms and practices also govern someone when communicating, solving conflicts, and making a decision as one has to perceive what standards are accepted and what is not accepted.

Development Model of Intercultural Sensitivity

The model of intercultural sensitivity explains what people are feeling and the reactions they have on cultural differences (Bennett, 2003). According to myself, I am at the integration stage of the intercultural sensitivity as I can comfortably and be equal with people from different cultures. Experiences which can help me to see and identify the differences between multi-lingual or bicultural individuals. It also enables me to know how to adapt and interact with them equally during different occasions and be equal in the situation through our cultural and language is more distinct.

How to serve as a role model

A role model is a person whose behaviors and practices are admired by many in society. They are those people who are habitually revered and emulated by people in the community because of their personal qualities, their unique behaviors, or the great achievements they usually have. To be a role model, I should interact freely with everyone in the community regardless of gender or age, giving people advice such as business plans, have all-round knowledge where I challenge myself to learn more. I should be able to do a great job outside my daily routine which can inspire many people, and always trying to be positively unique demonstrating a lot of confidence and excellent leadership to a group of people or the community at large.

How to approach an individual doing unethical behavior?

When approaching someone who is behaving unethically you have to do it professionally. For example, if I was to approach such a person, I should learn when to tell the person. For instance, I should call the person into a private place free from disturbances and discuss the matter. Diplomatically I should explain to the person why should stop the bad behavior and give the person the reason for why I am telling to stop. I should choose the issue and the unethical behavior of the person while speaking up to him for the discussion to end well. I should also give the person a definite reason for leaving lousy behavior.
