Accidents and unfortunate happenings often occur in business premises. Business premises can avoid some accidents to the employees by maintaining the premises well, potential risks evaluated and the employees themselves are encouraged to be careful while at work ("Elements of a Negligence Case", n.d.). In the process of cleaning the commercial property of clients, the GC company faces some tort risks and liabilities to its employees. The risks include: slip and fall cases for the cleaning employees, chemical exposure of the GC employees due to inadequate information concerning storage and usage of the cleaning chemicals, labor-intensive situations resulting in occupational injuries, and fires "Introduction to Tort Law", 2007). Since the employees of GC company are visiting the clients' premises as licensees or invitees, it should release a lot of information concerning the condition of the buildings. Under the slip and fall liability risks, there is a possibility of having defective staircases, oily floors, and broken floors ("What is Business Liability", n.d.).

GC company cleaning employees are sent to clean up a warehouse in one of the loyal customers of the company. The head of the cleaning department gives the cleaners detergents, fumigants for spraying the insects like spiders and other chemicals. During the cleaning process, one of the cleaners develops chest problems due to the inhalation of the fumigants. He is taken to the hospital and spends three months under bronchus inflammatory conditions. He sues GC company for the negligence of informing him the precautionary measures needed while handling the chemicals.

The list of potential risks and liabilities to GC employees while working in GC's public offices during office hours is a long one. They include: fires resulting from defective premises conditions coupled with absence or inadequacy of fire-fighting equipment, injury caused by intruders to the office buildings, injuries due to excessive work done, escalator and elevator accidents, exposure to toxic substances like fumigants, faulty staircases, loose or broken guardrails, damages caused by lack of proper professional gear e.g. earmuffs, goggles for high-intensity light, footgear, gloves and breathing masks ("What is Business Liability", n.d.).

A GC employee while cleaning the corridor of the third floor of a building slides on the floor. As he seeks to have a grip on the guardrails to avoid landing on the floor, he drops from the third floor to ground, only to realize that the rails were broken. He has broken one of his legs badly, and he is suing the GC company for damages.

GC company faces potential torts and business liabilities to customers visiting the company premises. They comprise of: murder and assault inflicted on the client while in the company building, injuries caused by slippery floors and unseen extension cords, falling from damaged staircases and guardrails, elevator accidents, exposure to toxic chemicals and fumes, injuries caused by falling objects from a building under renovation, and ear damages arising from harmful noise levels in unrestricted places ("What is Business Liability", n.d.).

A client visits GC company premises to consult on some services. On her way down through the lift, its undergoes a mechanical breakdown due to irregular machine maintenance. It takes two days to fix the problem and release her from the elevator. During this period of two days, she misses out on taking her medication pills resulting in her health condition becoming worse. She decides to sue GC company for her woes.
