Introduction
Public relations professionals have the responsibility of representing people and brands from different cultures and backgrounds. Fundamentally, the clients, in this case, can either be local or global (Edwards, 2011). However, they look for PR that can demonstrate diversity in all aspects. The forward-thinking and the communications that are diversity-focused are critical to the field of PR, and any professional who does not prioritize to practice diversity is likely to lose valuable relationships with their partners and clients (Edwards, 2014).
Summary of the Findings on Employment
From the research I conducted, I have established that employment within the field of PR is highly diversified with individuals from different backgrounds and cultures holding higher leadership positions depending on their experiences and qualification. As part of my research, individuals from various backgrounds such as the Whites, African-Americans, the Hispanics, and those with Asian origin hold leadership positions in different PR organizations. The diversity, in this case, is based on the need to serve both the local and global clients, who may also present a tremendous kind of variation and diversity.
Whether or Not the Public Relations Society of America Video is Credible and Engaging
Public Relations Society of America video, presents a lot of credibility and engagement in terms of diversity within the PR sector. Notably, the majority of the characters who appear in the video present a high level of diversity because of the different backgrounds they originate in. As observed, there are characters from different cultures, such as Whites, African-Americans, Chinese-Americans, Hispanics, and Asians.
If I Would Edit the Video if Assigned the Task
I would not perform any editing to the video because it presents a high level of diversity within the field of PR. As observed, the speakers in the video include individuals who belong to the African-American, Chinese-Americans, Hispanics, Asians, and Whites. Undeniably, the video is produced to address and inform the need to build the organizations that are inclusive, and which represent the changing face of a global economy, which is critical to the professionals within the United States. It is, however, important that much progress is yet to be made if diversity is to be fully achieved within the field of PR. Studies have shown that the PR industry still struggles to attract Asians, blacks, and Hispanic professionals (Logan, 2017).
Three Role Models in the Public Relation Sector
The three role models that I would love to see in the video are Andy Polansky (CEO, Weber Shandwick), Joele Frank (founder Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher), and John Saunders (CEO of Fleishman Hillard). The selected three individuals constitute the top PR experts in the world. Through their organization, these individuals have been able to create and open diverse work environments that have increased the number of viewpoints and solutions for both the local and global clients.
