Introduction
Digital marketing has been on the rise in different parts of the world, with data, analytics, AI, and technology being among the top opportunities that emerge from different cities. If an individual is curious and creative, they can make great managers in the digital marketing sectors. Digital marketing managers are responsible for ensuring there are development, implementation, and management of campaigns of marketing that helps promote companies and their products and services. Digital marketing managers help to drive website traffic, which increases the ability to acquiring new customers and leads. They are required to have an education that will help them shape their careers.
Digital marketing managers have unique abilities to learn on their own and adapt fast to skills that create pivots for digital careers. My education in school helped me to learn how to deal with Search Engine Optimization, which is the key to different levels of digital marketing. The basic skills and solid understandings of the practices and the way through which all contents are optimized in marketing strategies of companies are essential in the running of successful campaigns of organizational digital marketing (Talley, 2016).
Search Engine Marketing is another digital strategy that is found in the content and data levels of studying, and studying it at DePaul enabled me to gain strategies to communicate with other employees in my place of work and brainstorm with teammates to expand the operations of the company (Talley, 2016). Knowledge of content marketing is also important for a digital marketing manager to possess, as it is an essential part of studying in DePaul as a way to build a career on that line.
Content marketing requires that individuals learn how to create high-quality content and get different audiences they can engage with. It is also important to learn that content in a marketing career can take different forms, such as web content, emails, videos, and social media (Tiago & Verissimo, 2014). This is why education makes it easy to study such content and strategize on the goals of business while developing campaigns that require effective strategies that help to monitor analytics too.
The managers should be able to work with clients and teams for easy communication and the creation of strong teams in a company. As an individual to become a competitive digital marketing manager, the ability to use videos played a significant role in ensuring that I can catch the attention of retail sites and potential customers that help address liberal arts and education based on communication connected to the goals of a company (Tiago & Verissimo, 2014).
Formal education in a higher institution based on skills and methods taught helped me to create success in the management career (Taiminen & Karjaluoto, 2015). The formal education at DePaul helped me to learn how to create quick video intros from my laptop. The talents and skills of creating these videos have always played an extensive role in my career. They have increased my ability to create more videos for marketing an organization as they are always in demand.
The education acquired at DePaul helped me acquire the skills to identify and evaluate new technologies and analytic tools from the web for easy measuring of site traffic for better optimization of marketing campaigns as well as search advertising which makes it easier for use in digital marketing agencies (Taiminen & Karjaluoto, 2015). The education also played a major role in the development of my skills of influencing others and driving effective results through the collaboration for easy, compelling offers and growth in the organization.
DePaul helped me acquire a degree, which is important for one to be employed as a digital marketing manager. The internships at the end of the education and job experiences also played a major role in developing my marketing career from the low job positions of marketing to high positions to the point where I get the digital marketing manager (Jarvinen & Karjaluoto, 2015). The internships and job experiences are more important than the degree acquired in school, but DePaul helped me prepare for more complex assignments and opportunities in the marketing sectors.
The increased job experiences have helped me have an opportunity as a digital marketer in different companies from the bottom to the top over a short period. The increasing number of major companies like Apple and Amazon has made it easier to develop a career in digital marketing to become a manager because of the fast-growing hotbeds of digital marketing that focus on technology (Raghuraman, 2017). DePaul has enabled me to become tech-savvy due to the industry being driven by technology, and education has made it easier for me to learn concepts quickly like web coding and content management systems, which make it simple to land my dream job as a manager.
Conclusion
A great digital marketing manager must be persuasive through having excellent people skills and easily combine creative solving of problems and analytical thinking that enable teams to create innovative ideas for campaigning and pushing the business forward. Having a good breadth of basic knowledge acquired from education in school combined with job experience and internships planned by DePaul has contributed a lot to developing my career as a digital marketing manager.
