Introduction

Countries are grouped into developed and developing countries. A developed country is a nation where the citizens have the opportunity to access public utilities, social amenities, nutritious food, clean water as well as good healthcare services without any struggles. On the other hand, developing countries are nations that have inadequate supply of healthcare services, food, water, and social amenities (McGranahan, G., & Murray, 2012). Both developed and developing nations have similarities; however, they also differ in some ways. They both experience pollution and inadequacy of housing facilities. However, developed countries have better education levels, health services, infrastructure, and industrialization growth compared to developing countries.

Similarities between Developed and Developing Nations

A common feature in both developed and developing countries is the issue of housing. In both types of nations, people strive to live in the urban areas due to jobs. As a result, many people are crowded in the towns, yet the houses in the urban areas are not adequate to fulfill the demands of the citizens (King, 2017). As a result, only people with high income manage to live in less crowded areas and have access to good housing facilities. People with low income in both developed and developing countries are disadvantaged on access to good housing facilities.

Pollution is an issue that affects both developed and developing countries. Both types of countries face the harsh effects of pollution and global warming regardless of whether there are high industrialization activities in the countries or not (McGranahan and Murray, 2012). For instance, there have been heat waves and floods in Uganda, Africa, which is a developing country, and the same has occurred in the United States, which is a developed country.

Differences between Developed and Developing Nations

Developed and developing nations have differences. Healthcare facilities in developed nations are adequate and of high quality (Mohammad, Fink-Wagner and Nonikov, 2013). As a result, the infant mortality rate, rate of infections, and death rates in these countries are low. However, poor healthcare services in developing countries make people susceptible to infections, high death rate, and infant mortality rate.

The implementation of information technology differs in developing and developed countries. Developing countries face more cultural unsuitability, infrastructure inadequacy, and inappropriateness in the management style in the implementation of technological innovations compared to developed countries (Al-Debei & Al-Lozi, 2012). Therefore, technology innovations in developing countries are worse than in developed countries.

The infrastructure and industrialization growth in developing countries is lower compared to developed nations (Das, 2017). The governments of developing nations often have low GDP returns and also have high debt repayments which lower their ability to improve the infrastructure in these countries. However, governments of developed countries have higher GDP which supports their development projects.

Education has been upheld in all countries today however the quality of education differs in developing and developed countries. Due to good infrastructure and supportive governments, developed nations are able to have good educational curriculums and well equipped educational institutions that enable the citizens to have access to good education services and be literate (Lamichhane, 2015). On the other hand, developing nations have educational institutions however most are not as good as those in developed nations thus limiting the citizens access to high-quality education.
