Introduction
The main aim of undertaking this survey is to determine various variables, such as domicile of students, their age, genders, and the accommodation that they are using. The anonymous study focused on students seeking to determine if they are comfortable with their accommodation and the time that they take to move from their hostels to the university. The study's objective is to find the average time that the students take on a computer laboratory and exercise. The anonymous researcher wanted to understand whether the learners have ever done a part-time job and the number of hours they spent in this employment. Other elements raised in this study include the hourly rate that the students were getting when undertaking the part-time employment, determination on whether they were studying math at the A level, the points they scored as the A levels, and the GCSE points that they garnered.
Summary
The students that were involved in this anonymous study were international learners; others were from the United Kingdom and the European Union. They were categorized into three groups regarding their age, with one section being from 18 or 19 years, 20 or 21 years forming another, and the last one was for the students above 21 years. In the genders section, there were males, females, and those that preferred not to disclose theirs, and they managed to give a wider range of accommodation types that they were using in the course of learning. The researcher seeks to find out if the students were happy with the accommodation, and they gave three options. Some of the learners were very much happy with the services they were getting, while others felt the housing process was average. A good number of them stated that they were unhappy with the quality of accommodation that they were getting.
Description of the Data
The data obtained in this research is quite significant, and it can be analyzed in quantitative terms when looking at the various variables. The data provided can be easily understood by readers and analyzed, considering that the researcher has managed to get values that can be inter-connected. The data gives a broader view on the lives of the learners with findings on the amount of money they were making working as part-timers and the grades they managed to get when undertaking the GCSE and A levels.
Factors Affecting the Commuting Time to University
The time taken to reach university is affected by various factors, as shown in the survey findings. The time that the students take to move from their accommodation places to the university ranges from 3 minutes to 135 minutes. One of the factors that influence the time taken to university is the duration spent exercising in a week. It can be noted that the student taking 135 minutes to campus exercises for only 30 minutes. Additionally, another learner taking 90 minutes to university only takes 10 minutes to exercise. Another learner takes 100 minutes to campus does not exercise at all in the course of a week. A student consuming 540 minutes to exercise uses 15 minutes to school while another using 420 minutes to exercise requires only 30 minutes to reach the school. Therefore, there is a direct correlation between the time taken to school and exercising. When students take more time to exercise, they are probably fitter, and this allows them to move fast and with ease reducing the overall time taken to get to the learning institution.
Time To university | Minutes Of Exercise |
100 minutes | 0 minutes |
135 minutes | 30 minutes |
90 minutes | 10 minutes |
15 minutes | 540 minutes |
30 minutes | 420 minutes |
The domicile of students affects the time taken to reach university with the international students taking longer. It can be noted that the learners consuming the longest time of 135 minutes was an international student, and this was the same case with another learner using 100 minutes to reach the learning institution. The ones from the European Union are the ones that are taking less time.
Student Domicile | Time To university |
International student | 135 minutes |
International student | 100 minutes |
European Union student | 3 minutes |
It is important to note that the figures given in the tables below are samples from the anonymous survey. Additionally, the assertions raised on the factors that are affecting time used to get to campus are not definite, considering that there are exceptions. For example, despite the claim that the international students are taking longer to get to the university, it should be noted that a learner taking one of the least time of 4 minutes is an international learner. Other facts such as gender and age do not have an influence on the duration taken to the university for the Student's Responses post mixed findings.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it is critical to note that the data given in this anonymous survey helps to paint the picture of variables about students, such as their domicile and their feelings towards the accommodation they are getting. One of the concepts raised in this study is the time that the learners take to move from the accommodation areas to the university. It has been noted that their domicile and the time that they take to exercise are the factors that influence the duration they consume to move between the two locations.
