Authenticity in ethical leadership development is a very important virtue since it depicts a lot about a company its leaders and a lot of other things related to leadership. Authenticity in leadership emphasized leaders gain legitimacy and establish trust by establishing authentic relations with other people. This attitude to leadership concentrates on the ethical scopes of correlation between a leader and a follower and designates those conducts that afferent in a trustworthy correlation. An authentic leader is based on the following aspects: self-awareness, relational transparency, stable dispensation, and an internalized ethical perception. Authentic leaders express their self-awareness by replicating their values, weakness, and strengths.

Relational transparent leaders share their explicit peculiar ideas and beliefs but keep their emotions towards their followers in equilibrium. Authentic leaders maintain a balanced approach since they implore their subordinates' viewpoints and introduce opposing perspectives and deliberate the worth of the perceptions fairly. Authentic leaders portray strong ethical conduct in their decision-making and relations. Taking an instance of a leader who has a put up a large building for a company and it gets occupied, and later finds out that the building is weak and it may not last longer than a decade. It is possible to strengthen the building but it's too costly and the company would have to stop. As an authentic leader, you should take the right action which will help a lot despite the losses made.

In ethical leadership development, every leader should also be mindful of every decision they make. In every organization, every leader is faced with a lot of challenges and difficult decisions to make and sometimes they even get stressed up, but they still have to make the wisest decision which may affect the organization depending on the decisions they make. Mindfulness endorses clarity; it augments the aptitude to recall that an individual has one time decided to shadow ethical values, standards, or rules. Mindfulness also endorses equanimity and increases the ability of people to uphold calmness while making decisions.

Taking an example of an ethical scenario like, you are a Mechanical Engineer at a car manufacturing industry and you are the head of the department of the production sector. One of the concerned employees comes to you to bring up some complains telling you that, there is no enough equipment in the working station, the working conditions for the employees are not of the required quality and most importantly, some of the machines necessitate repair as soon as possible to take care of the health hazard and also the safety gears are not enough.

Finally, as an ethical leader with all the good qualities needed from an ethical leader, you would go and report the matter to your manager so that the problem would be solved but the problem is that, most of the leaders don't do what is right. This is where aspects like authenticity and mindfulness come in. The employee decided to represent the other members and brought the matter to you with authenticity and mindfulness. Some leaders would use their power to harass the employee or even get him fired for being authentic and mindful. The main reason as to why I chose authenticity and mindfulness, is because they are the best qualities that represent an ethical leader. The employee showed that he cared about their life and their productivity which showed the best example of an authentic and mindful leader.
