Speechmaking is quite different from text making, but the two have been used interchangeably. One can still put a speech down in the form of text by considering the five cues of discourse internalized in continuous writing, by arranging your ideas chronologically as per audience expectation. Advancement in technology has heightened the level of word processing in this era as compared to the ancient days of a manuscript. It has made it quite different from style carrying facets of settings and plots.

Even though it's not formally taught in education systems, its concepts are widely integrated with many learning areas, procedures, and principles. It has mostly promoted leadership and transition of students as a result.
