Introduction

The world is developing so fast with various modes of connection emerging, for instance, social media being the easiest virtual way of contact. India is one of the countries that has not lagged, and social media sites are developing continuously since 1997. Social media has become common for all ages, both young and adults. It is anticipated in different places, including office works; hence people are addicted to these sites. Social media has reduced boredom, and these sites entertain everyone involved since they include a variety of funny clips. People can as well discuss various issues through these sites and have made communication easier.

The first social media site introduced in India is Orkut. The website developed to be much popular among young individuals. Orkut became a discussion in every individual because such social media sites were never experienced before, and it emerged to be so exciting. The site could re-connect both old friends as well as new friends that could arise via Orkut. The same site led to the creation of communities and social revelation developed in India. People of India spend too much of their time on this website, introducing new technology, which has led to the development of other social networking, for instance, Facebook.

The Facebook website emerged as a result of the success of Orkut. Indians launched Facebook, making it developed at an alarming speed, and young people, especially the youth, found it more reliable. Facebook did not replace every social media site, but it challenged Orkut since a higher percentage of Indians could dwell so much on Facebook. The website emerged with the wall concept, which in the first place became weird to most people but later found it exciting since it contained the real and current posts. The funny part of this website is that people realized that they could disclose their marital status on their wall or even their relationship affairs.

Indians on Facebook could not delay checking out the walls of each other since one's status could be much enjoyable, knowing even without asking the same individual. Moreover, Facebook also emerged with pages, including features like groups making a hit in the industry of social media. People could migrate from Orkut to Facebook since forming groups could connect several people making communication viable. Facebook could also not rest after developing new things; it could work simultaneously in developing new ideas and updating new features that were more fun and accommodative than Orkut.

After the development of Facebook, the latest social media website emerged, that is Twitter, which has boosted the social media industry. Twitter has advanced a lot in its features; for instance, there is making friends, leading to making followers as well. A popular person, whether politicians or artists, tend to have many followers, an instance given value on the twitter website. Twitter has made connections much outstanding since people with many followers build themselves as well as their brands. Another pronouncing feature that twitter has come up with is a status update. People can update the longer or shorter status so long as it will impress their followers. Nevertheless, the development of the websites mentioned above has influenced their life of bloggers since they find it supportive of earning a living.

Role of English Language in India

In every nation, language still stands to be more critical, more so if it gets recommended for everyone to use it. Social group members require style to make communication with each other more comfortable and appropriate. The same is crucial for the public administration, the purpose of social interaction, and education purposes. India is a multicultural and multilingual nation, and for the importance of social aspiration, the mother tongue should be recommended. However, for the prime role of educational purposes, English has been given priority. Nevertheless, the universal language to interact well across these multi tribes in India has led to the English language learning to make communication easier.

The English language still stands out in India to be a powerful tool for the following; economics, business, and trade. Nevertheless, English has initiated much respect and progress among the people of India. English as well has been a common feature in India for communication and commerce since it allows Indians to learn. Different learning institutions in India, like universities and colleges, prioritize English as a language for instruction to all students and staff members. For people to obtain a job in India, they must polish their English language to embrace strong communication skills.

Knowledge of other subjects plays a minor role in securing a job according to today's globalization, which is growing so fast; one must be able to speak fluent English with good vocabularies. In the Indian education system, English occupies an empathetic and unique position. The same has not changed even after independence; it still plays a prestigious role in society. The elites in India send their children to English schools, and even poor communities tend to do the same. It all applies that English has a critical role in the education system across India.

Speaking English has been difficult for Indian children in the traditional days, but the teachers could spend a lot of their time in the classroom, teaching pupils how to write, speak, or learn and understand English. Speaking English stands out to be much relevant in the four skills, making non-native speakers interpret the message. In conjunction with the same, listening to the English language is also very important since teachers of English have tried to embrace listening skills. Educated people all over the country speak English; therefore, listening and speaking the same language are prime in identifying and operational purposes among Indians. The English language has prevented the isolation of the Indians across the world since they can speak and understand it well across different nations.

How the Development of Social Media affects Communication

The development of social media from Orkut, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube to LinkedIn has caused an effect on how people communicate. The same has tampered with the communication skills in various terms like language policy, new identities, and even new language. Social media like YouTube has led to a connection with different people from different countries who do not give English priority. These people will communicate in other languages like "Kiswahili" making Indians acquire this language since they have to maintain the connection between these social media sites as communicate as well. Indians have struggles learning these foreign languages to enhance communication between these social media sites.

Similarly, social media have affected how people react to nonverbal clues and even how to respond to emotions during communication. Interacting and communicating through social media has erased the vital basis of actual conversation. People spend much of their time holding virtual meetings through these social media sites, thereby forgetting the skills entailed in face-to-face communication. Additionally, confidence and self-esteem have been tampered with as a result of social media communication. People are left with negative feelings since they cannot express the same physically and sort every aspect out since its virtual mode of communication.

The development of social media sites has led to the emergence of a new identity. Posting on different social media websites, make people test the forms of online, depending on the feedback they get. Indians get an active audience who responds actively to their post leading to the influence of changing the new identity. Indians are now all over foreign countries, a situation which has been influenced by social media sites, some through business while others through development of relationship ties. Social media leads to be brilliant in making people alert and stay connected to every news. It makes people concentrate on the online relationship, which sometimes succeeds in creating a face to face relationship suffer since all attention is captured on social media sites.

In conclusion, social media has impacted Indians in various ways, which in most cases are helpful. For instance, the young generation is kept in touch with both present and past occurrences due to social media websites. It has influenced the way people behave from communication to doing things since many individuals, both the young and the old, spend much of their time on social media. Finally, social media development has created job opportunities since bloggers depend on these sites a great deal and even learn new things happen in these site
