Societies are made up of diverse cultures, views, attitudes, and beliefs. These, therefore, influence our opinions on what a community should be composed of and maintaining its natural balance. For centuries, human existence has thrived based on the need to ensure survival and incorporate the aspect of change in various spheres of life. Procreation is an immediate human need; thus, the society members included the acts of marriage based on either their religious beliefs or customary norms. An ideal marriage was viewed as the solemn unification of a man and a woman to be one and bring forth children. It varied greatly across civilizations and eras throughout human history. Arranged marriages were a common practice across the Americas, while love marriages proceeded later on. Such developments meant the transition from organized to chosen unions, with the primary collective social needs got replaced with the focus on the needs of two individuals and that of their children.

I am in support of same-sex marriage because every human has his or her own needs and wishes, and attaining these needs brings profound satisfaction to them. The sole purpose of marriage is to offer inclusion and belonging; hence one's cultural backgrounds and gender preferences should not be a hindrance to effective communication and needs attainment. We are all equal to each other; thus, there should be no limiting factor on what is deemed right or wrong as there exists no universal agreement on who should and should not marry or get married. My view is that the spread of marriage equality has been in the making from the state of Massachusetts legalizing same-sex marriage to now over 50 states across the United States of America. It resulted in numerous court decisions, ballot initiatives, and laws that were implemented by various state legislatures. The state's Supreme Court ruling on legalized same-sex marriages was a perfectly timed intervention as their judgments go in line with my support for marriage equality for the LGBTQ group.

I refer to the Hawaii Supreme Court in 1993 that spearheaded that constitutional bans and laws are lifted on same-sex marriages, and prohibiting same-sex couples from marrying should be considered as a violation of the state's constitution. It becomes an essential focal point towards gay and lesbian rights inclusion and needs to be absorbed into the various functional institutions. My view is that granting marriage rights to same-sex couples ensures equal treatment under the laws and would unlock or bring forth developments and government benefits that can help the society and even children born out of same-sex marriage. My opinion is backed up by my research on the U.S. Supreme Court ruling dated June 26, 2015, in which state bans on same-sex marriage got struck down, thereby bringing about marriage equality to the entire U.S.

The verdict is based on the view that no union is more profound than marriage because it's an embodiment of the highest significance of ideal love, devotion, sacrifice, fidelity, and family. The ruling was in favor of the benefits marriage would bring forth as couples can file taxes jointly; they are allowed to make critical medical decisions together. Any divorce process would also be based on a fair division of assets and resolution of custody disputes; married couples can apply for family rates on various health insurance plans. Moreover, some employers sometimes provide exclusive benefits to married couples hence limiting unmarried employees even those of same-sex relations who want to get married legally but cannot from applying for employer-provided family health plans. In regards to the LGBTQ issues, marriage equality can sustain and create numerous job opportunities and generate millions in revenue across the United States.

Conclusion

In summary, same-sex marriages across the U.S. has led to significant happenings with the rapid development of Civil rights advocacy for the LGBTQ. This, therefore, plays a vital role and needs to be all-inclusive of the combined population making up the state's residents. As such, I support same-sex marriage.
